A lovely series of gardens to walk around and to see so many azaleas and rhododendrons in one place. Various charities use the gardens for fund raising and on the day we visited it was the Red Cross. They organised the hot drinks and cakes etc and it was very well done, catering for many people all at the same time - and used suggested prices. The gardens were well worth the walks, in particular the short walk to the water gardens. Very good value for money and well worth the trip.

Friends told us about this, saying we'd probably missed it at its best. Basically, these gardens are acidic favouring azaleas and rhodedendrons, they are at their peak in early May but were still stunning when we visited towards the end of May. Close to Melton Constable, you will have to make some effort to find them, especially the car park and entrance. You should also take care to refer to their website because opening times are erratic. Well worth it, the grounds are just majestic and a riot of colour as you should see from the pics. It's on our calendar from now on. If you chance on a charity day there will be cake!

The Azaleas were stunning particularly in the" long walk". The gardens are well laid out with mainly flat footpaths with seating at appropriate points. We walked to the Water Gardens through the woods where the ground is a bit uneven but they are accessible down the road. Again the Azaleas were well worth the walk. The Rhododendrons were just budding and will be spectacular in a couple of weeks. There was a refreshment area in aid of a local charity with Home Made cakes and beverages. This was well worth the £7. entry fee.

Absolutely beautiful gardens. A real delight to walk around. An immense grouping of floral colours. A tea room and home made cakes managed by volunteers.
