Walking along the "Malecón" near the ocean is great.

We went for lunch to a restaurant in La Punta and then went walking along the waterfront admiring the old mansions and the new buildings .

La Punta has some very lovely old houses. It is easy to walk around, enjoy the ocean, look at old monuments, and has some great restaurants too.

La Punta is a distinct beach where you will mostly only find locals. Not a good beach for swimming but fun for people watching.
