My friend and I have a tradition to explore the spooky sites of the area around Halloween. This year she found the Ruthven Ghost Tour and booked it for the evening of October 21st. I had never been to Ruthven park before (even though I live in the area) and was really impressed with the property. Our tour guide was... More

We attended a wedding in the Coach House. It was perfect ! Lots of room in and out for guests to move about. I wish the no smoking policy was for the entire site.

We got lost but stopped to phone about a half hour before we were due. The guy that talked to us gave directions and we said we were on our way and fairly close by. He promised to pass on the message. Good. We arrived five minutes late and found that whoever we talked to had basically hung up the... More

When you enter the property check in at the gatehouse to pick up your map and pay admission ( seniors rate available) for the mansion tour. Follow the gravel road to the mansion. You will pass the Indiana Village Cemetery on your right. Plenty of parking and washrooms (handicap accessible). The mansion tours leave on the hour and approx. an... More

Walking around the grounds and checking out the cemetery was lovely and intriguing. We were fascinated & impressed by the work done on the adjoining lands to create "butterfly and bird friendly" fields. It was inspiring to witness the Carolinian influence brought back -- what work has been done! Congratulations to all who took on such a task and so... More

We drove to Ruthven park, with no expectations, and really not knowing what sort of attraction we would find beyond the front gates. I might have, had I looked online, but we were pleasantly surprised to find a well groomed estate from the 1800's, and for a bonus they were celebrating an exhibit about our 1st World War. If you... An excellent place to learn about and take in some local history. The house has been kept up to original standards and has a few very unique features.i.e. the main stairwell. The guide, very informative, lead us on a leisurely tour of the premises. There are also several outdoor paths to explore the grounds. Well worth a day trip.

Our Ghost Walk began at 9 PM, which included a trip through the Thompson Manor, and a walk to two cemeteries. The ghost stories that were told by our guide, the blackened skies due to cloud cover made this an enjoyable outing. Seeing inside the Thompson Manor at night is a rare experience, one I will not forget. The artifacts... More

Definitely worth touring. Our tour guide Teresa was pleasant and knowledgeable. This is a really interesting place! With a two-for-one online coupon, it was also very reasonably priced. We went on to dine at the Twisted Lemon... a great morning.
