About
Casa vinicola Aldo Rainoldi is mainly focused on the production of red wines obtained from the noble Italian native grape variety: Nebbiolo. In our cellar you can taste the "classic" wines like Sassella, Inferno and Grumello (also the reserves), sip our "Sfursat" and see our oak casks and barriques. The small contribution of 20 € is for the cellar's guided tour and for the tasting of 5 wines.

I was with friends from the area exploring the area, and we were invited to a tasting. The tour was amazing, and the history of the family and this building is worth the visit, even before tasting the wines! Then the wines came out, and I was blown away by their breadth and quality. I walked out with quite a few to bring home, and now wish I'd bought more!

We dropped by on a spontaneous visit after lunch hoping to buy some local wines. It was shut for the afternoon but the wonderful host welcomed us and opened his shop. He made the time to talk us through his wine making process and we left with half a case of beautiful wine. Thank you so much. We hope to come back soon for a wine tasting tour.

Our tour guide/hostess was hospitable, knowledgable and very friendly. Not only our group gained a lot of information about the process of wine making in Valtellina but also enjoyed the delectable taste of Rainoldi's hand-crafted wines. It was a remarkable experience at all levels. Highly recommended to the visitors of Lake Como and Valtellina.

My very first wine cellar visit and what a perfect way to start.
The three of us turned up early on a Friday morning and were warmly welcomed by one of the family.
Our tour was both interesting and entertaining but the best was to come, the tasting.
We were offered a selection of wines served in a perfect way so that we could take notes and ask questions. We had a wonderful time and walked away with both variations of their Sfursat and some Sassella Riserva.
Not has picturesque as Nino Negra but tons of charm and warmth, am absolute must for any fans of the Valtellina wines as we are.

On a Monday both Negri and another well known local Valtellina winery were not available (low season and sommelier out of town), our driver suggested Rainoldi winery.
With two adults, a teenager, a teetotaller and three young children we ventured to Chiuro arriving 45 min late.
We were welcomed by the owners wife (she speaks very well in English) who politely reminded us that the tour would last normally two hours but since we were late we had to rush a bit.
All started in the old winery were the wine processing was well explained (kids were impressed) and how is aged prior bottled. A good tour around the old plant.
The tour ended in the main reception area where we were given a choice of six of their best produces to taste.
Kids were seated on another table and toys and drawing books available for their entertainment.
We had a very good and knowledgeable host, sorry I forgot her name. The wine was too good.
We bought few of the wines on the list and some special reserva which are not normally sold.

I did the wine tour a couple of years back, my kids still remember that impressive hike through the vineyards and the wine cellars.
We pass many times after on the way to the ski slopes but at the wrong time so it was either closed or during the weekend.
I recommend booking for the very interesting wine tour and tasting.
This time I just stopped to say hello to the owners and to buy 4 cases of their fantastic wines.

Went there to buy 3 or 4 cases of wine. When I asked if I could try the wine before buying such a quantity I was told it was possible only by appointment. Opening a bottle and trying was not an option. Needless to say in other cellars here and elsewhere this is perfectly normal (eg Triacca). All very kindly expressed, but nonetheless a nonsense. I ended up buying one bottle per type for total 6 bottles, jokingly saying "so I will be able to do wine tasting by myself at home".

Dear Sir,
We regret we weren’t able to satisfy your request. We are a family run winery and we cannot assure wine tasting without appointment. The ageing cellar tour and wine tasting take about 2 hours and there's one person dedicated to that: for this reason, we need to plan visits. We published this information on our web site and also on social networks.
We will try to make this information more visible for the visitors.
Best regards

A great reception and the wines are wonderful. Try the hole range so you the right feeling for them and don't forget their Sfursat.

Excellent experience that I highly recommend to everyone for the high quality of the wines tasted and for the exhaustive explanation of Mrs. Luciana, very competent and very clear in her presentation.

Hello! What is the best way to get from the Tirano train station to the winery? Also, are there times on Saturday for tours and tastings?
