best way is to enter from Puertito of Guimar and walk through the vegetation of the nature reserve - artistic, beautiful, with blooming plants and cactus, never seen something similar.

The walk along the coast followed by the cinder cone of Montana Grande is a trip into a full range of volcanic scenery within a manageable two hour period. The trail is tricky underfoot at some points but the views are great. There is no...More

It is definitively easy walk even for 70+ people. Most intensive part is few steps down and up similar to hotel stairs. There is nothing spectacular here but reading explanation boards finally the area starts to be more interested. We walk from Puerto de Gulimar...More

We really enjoyed this modest hike. There are really interesting plants, and you will certainly see lizards. If you hike toward the volcano it is slightly uphill or you can walk along the coast. There are a few parking spaces if you come in on...More

This little nature reserve is a pearl. In a relatively short walk (2-3 hours) you get to see a volcano close up, walk through volcanic landscape on well marked paths, experience the fascinating local flora and fauna, and learn from the information panels along the...More

Coming back from two months I've south America I have to admit that this was a bit boring...still a nice ballad though. Definite familly outing on the coast.

We were staying nearby so it was a no-brainer to do a circular walk around the park. The stretch along the coast is particularly spectactuar and is really lovely. It is a shame that the area adjacent to the industrial estate seems to be used...More

The reserve is a set in a barren area of the South East Coast. It represents what this part of the island looked like prior to the development of tourist resorts. It has a small dormant volcano on the western edge. There is a clear...More

Malpais translates as Badlands. There are a few areas in Tenerife that bear this name which really relates to the desert like features of which there used to be many before the explosion of tourism that began in the 1970's. Now a protected area you...More

Easiest way in is from Puertito de Güímar. Once facing the coast turn left and walk towards the park. All the roads merge into Calle Marques de Sta Cruz. Walk ahead on this road and you will soon be in the park. Parking... More
