Awesome Fishing has been based from Dale for 10 years, it's the longest running inshore Pro guided lure fishing experience in Wales, and operates one of the smallest charter vessels in Wales. Our new vessel 'Grey Ghost' is an open aluminium sports fisher, infinitely recyclable, powered by a low emissions outboard motor, this is well in keeping with our environmental ethos, which pushes GG along at an impressive 25 mph, and can access areas bigger boats cannot. 'GG' licensed for upto 2 passengers, so if your an individual, 2 members of same family or 2 friends, you can be assured that you won't be sharing with anyone else. For the experienced angler we offer an unrivalled inshore light gear lure fishing from 3-8 hours, sessions available for Bass only or multiple species such as Ballan Wrasse, Codling & Pollack. For the less experienced we offer shorter angling experiences 1.5hrs fishing for Mackerel & Pollack, or 3hrs a bit deeper & longer Contact via WHATSAPP message, thanks.

It was a surprise birthday gift and I couldn't have asked for anything better. Jimmy was not only great company but extremely knowledgeable and helpful the entire trip and made sure we had the best trip possible. I recommend to ANYONE who wants a day out fishing

Really knowledgeable, helpful and went above and beyond to make the day memorable.

Great 3 hour evening life session , the boat is well set up for lure fishing , and Jimmy worked hard to get us over some fish, my son had his first bass, a beauty at 58cm.
This is my 3rd trip with Jimmy and I’ll be coming again .

We had a fantastic afternoon fishing with Jimmy.
It was the first time I’d taken my ten year old on a boat fishing and he absolutely loved it and has not stopped talking about it.
It was the best three hours sea fishing,
We will definitely book again and look forward to our next trip!

Grandpa and Grandson had a wonderful few hours introduction to fishing - James was very knowledgable and patient and all very chuffed to come home with a fabulous Mackerel catch for lunch. We hope to be back next year! Thank you.

Despite the weather James managed to get us into some good fishing spots along the Dale coastline. Fished with the recommended lures and caught a few small bass, a small pollock and a nice “keeper sea bass” which was fantastic to eat later in the day

This was a trip that I'd been looking forward to for a while but then the great British weather changed everything. But Jimmy was so accommodating he switch my booking around and still got me out on to the spots where fish are despite the adverse weather/conditions .. He never lost he enthusiasm to chase the Bass AKA Grey Ghosts. Had a couple of chances which I fluffed up but hey ho that's fishing! Hope to be back soon on Grey Ghost

June the 4th saw my arriving at the pontoon in Dale for a long awaited first trip of 2023 with Jimmy on the new boat Grey Ghost. The boat is new for 2023 and straight away I was impressed with how well everything has been thought out for the angler, stable, roomy and a lovely platform to fish for. Expectation was high as we set off from Dale, but I dont think either of us quite envisaged how good the session would turn out to be.
After picking up some nice pollock drifting over rough ground for a couple of hours, and then Jimmy hooking and landing an absolute beast of a ballan wrasse at just over 50cm, Jimmy decided we should try and catch slack water at a particular location which he was hoping would produce. What followed was a blur of action, we stopped counting at 25, all fish well over 42cm and several up in the 58-62 range. Jimmy's constant repositioning of the boat, guided by the Hummingbird imaging on Grey Ghost and his consummate skill and knowledge kept us in touch with mammoth sandeel shoals that the bass and pollock were smashing with abandon, aided and compressed by birds attacking from above. Having my own screen from the Hummingbird at the front of the boat was a revelation, I could time when and where to cast and the depth to position my lures at so much better than relying solely on instruction from the skipper. A range of soft plastics, basically anything vaguely sandeel like ensured a hook up practically every cast. I also enjoyed success with several types of metal jigs. In the gin clear water, every retrieve had 3 or 4 bass chasing up to the boat. Exhausting, exciting and brilliant fun. Eventually the tide started to push, the shoal dispersed and they were gone. We picked off a few more fish at a couple of spots on the way back and arrived back at the pontoon. I took my bass limit of 2 fish for the table, plus a large pollock. All the rest were returned safely. I've had some memorable days with Jimmy on Bang Tidy 2, but this first trip on Grey Ghost was epic in every sense of the word.

Me and my partner had a brilliant few hours aboard Grey Ghost with the boat Captain James. We both caught a whole raft of fish, even a beautiful bass big enough for the dinner table. From sea to the dinner plate in about 2 hours! James took real care to ensure both of us were looked after, having fun and catching fish. He has exceptional knowledge of the best spots but also a few new ones based on activity on the surface. There wasn’t a dull moment, frantic fishing at times, it was real blast. We will definitely be back aboard next year and can’t recommend Awesome Fishing Wales enough, get aboard if you’re down this summer, you won’t be disappointed!

Another excellent day out with James end of May 2022.
Great guide, super boat for sportfishing. Set us up on many great drifts amongst one of the most beautiful coastlines in the UK.
Bass, wrasse and pollack a plenty on lure gear.
Cannot recommend him more highly.
