Set on the beautiful gentle slopes of Welcombe Hills, a couple of miles outside Stratford-upon-Avon, Welcombe Hills Vineyard is a delight. Owned and run by a lovely young couple, Nichola and Jonathan, we had a great couple of hours here.
Properly socially distanced with a maximum of ten people per tour at the moment, we started with a walk around the vineyard with Jonathan describing the 8-10 different grape varieties that they grow, how vines are grown and all the stages of cultivation.
We then sampled four of the wines that are made from their grapes. They were delicious, and actually matched the tasting notes that were provided. When we had tasted the wines, our glasses were refilled a couple of times with whichever wine we liked (that deserves a sixth star!)
The wines are very reasonably priced compared to many other English wines; we came away with half a dozen bottles and have plans to return later in the year.

We booked onto the vineyard tour/tasting on one of their first days of opening following lockdown. The welcome from Nichola & Jonathan was extremely warm & friendly. Socially distancing was easily adhered to and we felt totally safe. Learning about the history of and future plans for Welcombe Hills Vineyard was fantastic and the passion from both Nichola and Jonathan shone through. Of course, the wine tasting was a great part of the afternoon and most definitely did not disappoint. We highly recommend booking onto the tour & tasting. We can see ourselves booking each season as grape varieties are added! Thank you for a fabulous event.

Thanks so much for your review and for coming on our vineyard tour! It was a pleasure having you and we look forward to seeing you again when the next wine comes in. Best wishes, Nichola

Situated on the gentle slope of Welcombe Hills just outside Stratford upon Avon, Welcombe Hills Vineyard is a delightful place to visit.
Owned and run by a lovely young couple, Nichola and Jonathan, we were made most welcome. Having just restarted tours after lockdown, groups are limited at the moment to ten people to ensure proper social distancing. All such matters, along with extra hygiene precautions, had been well thought out and provided.
We started with a tour around the vineyard itself, with Jonathan telling us about the 8 - 10 different grape varieties that they grow, and all about the cultivation of the vines. Following that, we sampled four of the vineyards wines, all delicious and matching up well with the accompanying tasting notes. After the initial sampling, we were offered seconds (and thirds!), so a very happy time was had. Compared to most English wines, Welcombe Hills wines are very reasonably priced - we came home with half a dozen bottles!
A thoroughly enjoyable couple of hours. We will certainly be back before long.

Well worth a visit. The tour was a gift, but the "giftees" came too. Very informative, very interesting, very tasty. Was aware English wines have a growing reputation and win prestigious awards in blind tasting, but wasn't aware there was a vinyard this far "north" until we recived the gift. We adopted a Vine. The food ("Graze Box") from the next door farm was delicious and good value, so we visited the Farm Shop afterwards. A great way to spend a summer afternoon.

We enjoyed a very well presented socially distanced wine tour here in June.
After a brief history of the vineyard and a tour, we got to try out the fresh and fruity wines overlooking the valley. Lovely afternoon out :)
Would definitely consider re-visiting when restrictions allow more time - and tasting plates...!

A really enjoyable afternoon at the Welcombe Hills. Dom gave a very comprehensive and engaging tour of the vineyard and this was followed by (generous) tastings of the wines, and we liked them all! A relaxing afternoon in a lovely setting - we would certainly recommend a visit or giving someone one of the gift packages - great present!

We visited this family run vineyard for a tour and tasting session with friends. The hosts were super welcoming and the experience just perfect from start to finish. We started with a gentle paced tour through the vines led by John and Dominic, there really was something for everyone: wine production, vineyard and local area history, english wine industry, grape varieties, the workings of a vineyard etc...who knew Beavers like to booze! Tours can often be quite dry but owner John struck the perfect balance and delivered a very eloquent, relaxed and humble session.
We then enjoyed tasting 4 x wines (with an optional extra 2 for those that wanted to, we did!) and learning more about them as we tasted. Most guests had pre-ordered a grazing box which was filled with locally sourced nibbles which was really tasty 😋 and complemented the wines brilliantly. Nichola and John have created a really special place that is well worth a visit - or a revisit - we'll be back!!

I received a wine tasting and vineyard tour as a gift for my birthday so we booked a weekend away to Stratford Upon Avon.
The vineyard itself is lovely and on historic land which the tour guide explains, along with taking you through the process of producing their wine.
After the vineyard tour we tasted four different wines, they gave us good sized samples with an explanation of each wine and suggested pairings.
The food was lovely, we added a charcuterie board onto our booking and this paired brilliantly with the wines.
Overall, a wonderful experience I would recommend to couples or families looking for a different activity to do just outside of the centre of Stratford.

We really enjoyed our time at the vineyard. The setting on a Warwickshire hillside is superb. We were given a very knowledgeable insight into the viticultural process by Chris who also shared information about the various grape varieties grown on the estate. The well executed tasting allowed us to appreciate the quality of the wines they make and the food platters enhanced our experience.
Our hostess, Dy, was very welcoming and along with Chris are excellent ambassadors for the company. A visit here is a must.

Both Jonathan and Nichola were fantastic tour hosts, explaining the history of the area and the vineyard so well and being open to any and all questions.
You don’t have to be a wine connoisseur to enjoy the tour either. It’s very relaxed and we got to roam the vineyard after the tour whilst sampling four of their delicious wines they had to offer. I ended up buying a bottle of their ‘Ophelia’ sparkling Rosé and ‘The Tempest’ Bacchus wines after enjoying them on the taster.
As an added touch, we got to take our own vine home to plant and I have been supplied with an email guide to get the best out of it.
It really was a lovely day out, very inexpensive considering the quality of the tour and the added extras. I hope I get to visit again soon.

Hi, we're visiting the UK in late October from Australia. Any chance of being able to visit your winery for tastings at this time of year? Cheers, Lizzie
