One of the best experiences of my life! I had a great time from start to finish at Skydive Northwest and would 100% recommend.
I came to Skydive Northwest with a group of individuals raising money for a charity in our local area. Our original skydive date had to be rescheduled due to thunderstorms and the team were great at finding us a new date so that our group would be able to go together rather than having to rebook individually.
On arrival to the site the team were extremely welcoming and informative, chatting away to us and giving us all the information we'd need to know. The weather on the day was still a little hit and miss so we all went into in the onsite cafe while we waited for the shower to stop. A few people in my group even grabbed a bacon butty too which looked lovely!
After the rain we were taken in groups to have a safety briefing with George who kept us calm, cracked a few jokes and answered any questions we had.
After the briefing, it was time to get ready to go, we were each provided a jumpsuit and harnessed up, then reminded again by our tandem instructor (mine was Steve) of everything we had to do during the jump. During all of this, I met Gary B my skydive camera flyer who started filming straight away to get footage of the preparations.
Then it was time to jump! When flying on the plane, Gary was chatting to me so I didn't really get chance to get too nervous or overthink, I was just having a great time! I was the last to jump out of my group so I thought it would feel like I was waiting a while but it was the complete opposite, each person was sat on the edge of the plane for no more than 10 seconds so there really was no time to even think, we just had to go! The adrenaline rush was amazing and the views of the lake district were spectacular, I can't really describe how incredible the experience was...you just have to try it yourself!
I paid extra to have my jump filmed which was definitely worth it, I got over 200 photos and a video which was all put together by Gary B who did the most incredible job. I really would recommend getting the skydive filmed because the experience is over before you know it and having the film means you can re-live the memory time and time again.

Had a fantastic day out yesterday.
My children loved watching the jumpers coming down with the parachutes and watching the plane take off and land.
When it came to my Tandem jump my instructor Ed was amazing, he explained everything I needed to do in great detail and made me feel safe the whole way down. The video footage was definitely worth every penny and I have re-watched it numerous times.
The only minor issue we had was while waiting there was a lack of shady areas as my wife is quite sensitive to the sun, luckily I had a large umbrella in my car to help her out.
It would have also been nice if the cafe accepted card payments as we only had a very limited amount of cash for refreshments which wasn't ideal on such a hot day.
Overall though it was an amazing experience and I would definitely do it again

Arrived on the 19th. Booked in to do a tandem jump. First person I met was Dennis the menace . Checked my forms, took my temperature, made me feel right at home. Girls in reception were first class. Unfortunately even though the sun was shining, it was too windy to jump. Waited for a few hours, but an announcement on the tannoy advised that conditions wouldn’t change any time soon. Some of my family had shown up to watch, and Dennis kept us all amused with his stories. Have to rebook, hopefully the same sunshine but a bit less wind next time.

I would suggest caution using this company. Their availability to book dates since lockdown is very limiting. We tried numerous times with limited dates. They offered available dates by email, twenty minutes later that availability was full.
They then offer week dates, which is unsuitable to most customers.
Their skydive experience may be amazing.
. But after lockdowns, many customers are trying to book meaning there is more demand than availability.
If you do use them book the date immediately. Do not buy vouchers as you may find you in-fact never get to use them!!

To say we are shocked at this review is an understatement. We have looked at our email conversations and you where offered numerous dates but they where all inconvenient to you, including several dates in May, we offered you dates for the month of August but you replied that ‘we are on holiday in August which rules out that month’. Your voucher had expired which we extended free of charge. We asked you to call us but you didn’t. You also said you would leave a review on trip advisor which is basically a case of ‘spitting ones dummy out’ as we couldn’t fit your tandem skydive around your availability. Our reviews are always excellent and your one star review will not prevent anybody buying vouchers or booking with us (may we point out that you only leave negative reviews on trip advisor) good luck to the next company who can manage to accommodate your extremely busy and hectic lifestyle. Have a great day !

Skydive Northwest are fabulous! I did a tandem skydive the other day, with instructor Chris Gilmour, and cameraman, Stevie. Both are experts, and from start to finish they made sure the skydive would be an amazing experience. The jump from the plane and the freefall, and the parachute trip down, was so well-handled that I felt totally safe every second of the way, while the panoramic views of the bay and surrounding countryside, pointed out by Chris, was an exceptional experience, in itself. The whole experience was captured in stunning video, by Stevie, who even let me select the music for my video. I would definitely recommend Skydive Northwest, and have been urging family and friends to take a break, and book this incredible experience. My son has told me that people say ‘There is life before skydiving, and life after.’ I would say this is certainly true for me. It is a mind-set changer. Thanks to all the great staff at Skydive Northwest. Your organization is easily worth 5 stars!

Wow what an amazing experience that was to skydive was exceptional from start to finish.
Myself and my daughter have just done a skydive on Saturday 17/9 and it truly was a memorable thing to do and would highly recommend anyone who is thinking about it to go ahead and book.
The place was lovely with facilities to have a drink and something to eat and the staff where all very friendly and made you feel at ease.
A special shout out to Dennis on reception just a funny and nice fella very friendly and made us all feel very welcome.
Thanks
Darren and Miah 👍

’ve read so many good reviews but my experience is very different to these. I made a booking for April’23 for my bday and paid a £50 booking amount. I reached the site and it was a bad weather day. The team suggested we go through the training anyway and wait for the weather to clear out. To go through the training, you have to pay the total remaining payment so I paid another £220 (Total £270)! After 3 hours of waiting the dive was cancelled. I understand the weather is out of control. So I’ve come to Lake District now in oct (today 7th oct) and have had my dive booked for today but unfortunately due to the weather it has been cancelled again. I called up their office asking for a slot for tomorrow (8th oct) as I’m leaving for London tomorrow but they’ve said they’re full. I’ve asked for a refund of my money to which the lady on the phone is totally robotic (go read T & C) that is the only response she gave. I’ve been here twice from London, spending time and money and haven’t been able to jump and they do not refund you the money, just ask you to come back again. Their phone operator is absolutely not helpful. I’m still here waiting for them to confirm my dive or refund my money!

I booked Skydive for April but couldn’t do it due to the weather. Booked it again for oct and got hit by bad weather again but the team helped me reschedule it to the next day and I could finally do my skydive! My instructor John Howard was calm and fun. He made sure I’m feeling safe and having fun! Great experience, great views. Loved it ♥️

From start to finish this was an awesome experience . I went there today to do a tandem jump with my son for his 21st birthday . From Dennis greeting you on arrival to the touchdown on the landing zone the whole place oozes professionalism. My instructor Ed was extremely professional but also witty and it really calms the nerves . The videographer Rob did a fantastic job recording the whole experience . My son’s instructor Danny was fantastic with him and his videographer Dan did a great job capturing it all on film . We will definitely be going back again . I can wholeheartedly recommend this skydiving Centre for anyone looking to do a tandem jump .

As I sit here thinking of what to put in the review I think I will echo what a lot of people have already said.
This tandem ski dive was a 50th birthday present to myself, and I was very pleased.
I had my pack arrive soon after my booking and all I was left to do was to look out for the weather.
On the 1st of May, it was a glorious day with great visibility, another reason I wanted to do the ski dive in the lakes was the view.
I was greeted in a well-organised manner, everything felt relaxed also which helped.
I had my briefing and was set to go. I met my instructor Steve Smith, who was very helpful and explained everything clearly, I felt in safe hands.
The experience was amazing, I can't thank the team enough for a highlight of my 50th birthday. I will never forget the feeling of looking out of the plane just before we jumped and then the buzz as you settle into the free fall and enjoy looking around. The relaxation of when the parachute opens and it goes quiet and you look around with stunning views.
Thank you, Steve, Gary, and the Skydive Northwest team.
I should add, I initially did not opt for a video, but during the briefing, I realised this was something special and Skydive Northwest organised a cameraman for me, Gary.
I am so please I did this, well worth it.
Thanks again, amazing memories.

The whole experience was amazing from start to finish! I am petrified of heights but the whole team made me feel at ease (well as much as is possible when you know you’re jumping out of a plane).
Crazily I felt safe and secure in the harness. Small tip, close your mouth on the way down- severe dry mouth alert. 🤣🤣😆
Dennis, pest controller, housekeeper, wine-maker, and general all round 10/10, kept us entertained with jokes and stories! He also gave me a fabulous bottle of home-brewed wine which I’m currently sipping…delicious!!
I actually can’t believe that I did it but so glad that I did!
The video was also amazing. I keep watching it and laughing at myself! Amazing memories that I can watch over and over again!
Amazing team and set up! 😀

It costs £230 for a tandam skydive. It really is fantastic and I would recommend having it filmed and photographed for £80

How long is pre jump training .? So scared we are doing this for charity
Written 11 April 2017
Hi Natalie. You have nothing to worry about. You are in our experts excellent hands, they will guide you through the skydive during your training brief. The training is normally about 20 minutes long. We look forward to welcoming you to Skydive Northwest.

Hi I'm seriously thinking about taking part in the upcoming ABF charity skydive event as I currently work in a combat stress center for serving members of the armed forces an it's my mission to do whatever I can to raise much needed funded for our soldiers an veterans. I have never skydived before so would I need a lesson before attending the charity event ?
Written 1 June 2016
No, you won't need a separate lesson - I'm assuming it's a Tandem Skydive? If so, you get a small training session before hand and because you're attached to an instructor there is minimal for you to worry about!
Although it would be worth checking with their office - they're really helpful.

Im17 and have paparent consent. Just wondering how much id have to pay if I'm doing the sky dive for charity?
Written 25 October 2015
Hi
I'm not 100% sure if your doing it for charity then I think you just have to raise so much sponsors and the jump is free. If you log on to sky dive northwest Web site they will have more information on there for you.
Hope this helps and good luck it's amazing.
Michelle.

Hi I would like to know if there is an age restriction and what is the price ?
Written 24 May 2015
Minimum age is 16, but if they are under 18 they need parental consent. I think the tandem skydive costs about £200 now.
