    Fantastic Distillery Tour
This is a small working distillery which produces Rum, Gin and Whisky. Having been to six different whisky distilleries before the technical elements and story was the same but to actually see the stills working, the yeasted malt fermenting, the spirit safe flowing was something else. We were guided by Dave, the distillery manager himself, who you can immediately see the passion flow from. He was warm, welcoming and super friendly. I also had a quick chat with Sarah who is also a distiller while she was pouring some new yeast into the tanks and calming down an excited batch with some vegan butter! Also a super friendly person who again you can see the enthusiasm flow from. The tasting part was great as well as you can sample their gin, rum, ready made cocktails alongside their whisky. As for the whisky itself, even though it's young, with long fermentation time and good cask play it does not reflect it's age and is actually a fantastic sipper. The site is a UNESCO heritage site and is just awesome to be around. I would highly recommend any whisky enthusiast to visit and even if you're not that into your whiskies I bet you'll enjoy the process and the people. Cheers!

    Tour
This was an excellent tour with a very knowledgeable tour guide. They were making a rum while we were there, but he explained how they make Gin, Rum and Whisky using the different facilities. It was very interesting how they use different barrels to influence the taste of the product. Finally the tasting of all the different brands was superb. I left with 3 bottles of excellent alcohol.

Excellent tasting tour led by Tom. Tom was informative, knowledgeable and no question was a daft question, he had the answers we searched for. As a non whiskey drinker, I can say, the tastings were superb. When folk talk about tasting notes I have previously been bamboozled but Toms explanations about them and where they come from in the process made so much sense. Liquorice and molasses, pine and vanilla … brilliant. The whiskeys were excellent but Tom was right the rum is a defo into getting into whiskey and the cocktail 🍹 drink for me was to die for. For us it was a brilliant visit, will defo revisit and oh will be going again. Go visit, you won’t be disappointed.

    Excellent tour around working distillery
Tour started off in a lovely seating area with roaring log fire in a cold and wet January day. We were then shown around the different parts of the distillery process by a very knowledgeable guide. Tour finished off with some tasting back in the seating area. Definitely worth a visit if you are in Derbyshire We also then took a short drive to Belper and enjoyed a plate of fish and chips at Nicky's fish bar and a walk around the Belper shops.

    Brilliant experience would highly recommend
We did the distillery tour for my grandad’s 80th birthday. We really enjoyed it! The tour was very in-depth and the tasting experience at the end was fantastic, we were allowed to really take our time and the staff member who ran it was brilliant! Really made it special, we will definitely be back! A must do for any whiskey fans our there! The whiskey is very nice and the tasting room was very cosy with the fire on and everyone sat around a big table, they were very generous with the samples. We went in December and it was so Christmasy, we loved it! We plan to come again in 2023 with my other grandparents.

    Distillery tour and shop
Would HIGHLY recommend going on the distillery tour! My partner received this as a birthday present in January 2022 and due to illness had to reschedule twice, the team were understanding and let us rebook with ease. On arrival for the distillery tour the team were welcoming. The tour guide Cain, delivered a charming tour of the distillery, with charisma and outstanding knowledge. He encouraged us to ask questions and his passion shone through. The story of how the business started and how it works with other local businesses is something to be proud of. After the tour we tasted gin, rum and whiskey all were delicious - best gin I’ve tasted and I don’t drink whiskey and was wowed by both we tried. As a takeaway you get to keep your glass and get a discount in the shop. We couldn’t resist buying some spirit to have at home. This would make a great birthday present or even just to treat yourself! Thank you to all the team a fantastic local business that more people should visit!

Great value, not like corporate distillery tours, this one's personal.
Great value, not like corporate distillery tours, this one's personal. I came in 2019 before the whisky could be called whisky. Now you get a great tour of the distillery that takes in the making of whisky, gin and rum with a real personal touch. A really good trip out for anyone that likes whisky, gin or rum.

Interesting and good value for money tour
A very interesting and personal tour of the distillery. The tour took around an hour and cost us £15. For that we had the tour (about 45 mins) and then a tasting session of 4 spirits. You also got to keep the tasting glasses. Well worth 15 quid.

Great place to visit, learnt a lot about how they make their various spirits, our guide was knowledgable and happy to answer all our questions. The samples we got to try at the end of the tour were delicious and were tailored to how we drink our spirits, we hate tonic with our gin! The location is also great and was easy to get to by car. Would highly recommend to anyone who likes to try a new brand of spirit

    A tasty tour
We’d been gifted the tour as a Christmas present and we had a fab time learning about the processes of making whiskey, gin and rum. The tour hit the mark with the amount of information provided so you understood what was happening and weren’t overwhelmed with too much jargon. You do need to be reasonably mobile as there are some metal stairs to navigate but don’t let that put you off as the tour guide did get a chair out for a lady who couldn’t do the stairs and also arranged for one of the other guides to stay with her and explain what was happening. The finale of the tour was the tasting, which was also fun and informative and I must admit by the time I we finished I was feeling the effects but that could be because I finished my husband’s share too(he was driving). All in all a great way to spend and hour or so. Would definitely recommend .

Really enjoyed the tour of the whisky distillery and the Wireworks whisky tasting.

Our guide Sarah was the star, knowledgeable, friendly and great fun.

I love the clever way that the new distillery has been developed into the old industrial buildings. It has produced a great earthy feel that compliments the Wireworks brand and excellent whisky.

We did the distillery tour. Tom was friendly, knowledgeable and none of our questions phased him.

Fascinating to see behind the scenes and to hear from someone who is working in the distillery and not just a tour guide.

Tasting room was toasty with real log fire (on a cold day!) with added bonus of keeping your tasting glass.

Thoroughly recommend.

Great welcome and very informative tour of distillery by Sarah who is passionate about her work (and whisky).
Very good value for a trip out, we bit bought a bottle to take away but really lovely touch being given a tasting glass each that’s engraved.

Great experience. Gift voucher bought for my husband. A thoroughly enjoyable and informative time. Then the opportunity to taste a variety of different and stunning whiskies. Tom and Sarah were friendly and knowledgeable and willing to answer questions and gave a very enthusiastic description of a working distillery.
Highly recommend.

I've really enjoyed our whisky tour and tasting experience. The team are very knowledgeable explaining the process and answering questions. Guided through the distillery we are told what used to be manufactured in the warehouse and I love the nod to the past with the branding.

Definitely worth a visit, you will have a great time.

This is a lovely 1-hour tour through the Distillery and spirit production process. The tasting at the end of the tour showcases four separate products. Overall an extremely enjoyable visit and good value for money.
