Grinzane Cavour Castle stands in one of the most spectacular settings in...

Grinzane Cavour Castle stands in one of the most spectacular settings in the Langa, just 5 km from Alba. The imposing building, erected around a central tower dating back to the first half of the XI century, can be admired in all its original beauty following the restoration that began in 1960, in celebration of the first centenary of the Unification of Italy. The Castle now houses the "Cavour" Regional Enoteca, the first to be set up in Piedmont in 1967. This is a prestigious showcase for the very best Piedmontese wines and grappas, foremost amongst them being Barolo and Barbaresco. The wines undergo a strict selection process before being displayed and placed on sale along with leading local food products. Tastings possible.

Lovely castle with lots of history and a Michelin stared restaurant. The audioguides are quite informative and the views from the castle's terrace and the rooms is lovely. Lots of steps - not appropriate for elderly

We actually found this accidentally, and then saw it was in all the travel guides. Great museum, food, shopping, tasting, beautiful rounds. Free parking in several places nearby.

Is one star enough? The food and service here are unparalleled and the dining room as special as it gets. I make it a point to eat here whenever I am in the Langhe.

Quite a steep walk up to the Castello, but the views are stunning when you get there. Lovely gardens, even mid September. A wedding was underway whilst we were there. A small cafe is at the base of the ramp for refreshments and parking is free in the square.

An old castle situated on a hill with beautiful views over the valleys, vineyards and hills of thus region. We had a guided tour of the cattle and really appreciated the story of wine in the region and the history of the Cavours and their importance to the region.

We spent a nice few hours here. The tour of the museum is very interesting and provides some nice history on the history of wine making in the area. The history of the Cavour family and the politics was also fascinating. Now I understand why every town in Italy has a Piazza Cavour! We had a wonderful light lunch in... More

The Restaurant Castello di Grinzane Cavour Via Castello. Piedmont, Italy is remarkable, lovely setting, excellent food. The hosts Amy & Marc Lanteri were very friendly and accommodating.

From this place it seems you can see the entire barolo area. Good wine shop, museum and restaurant as well. Don't miss the view though ;)

Beutiful place, good wine shop and a very interesting museum. If you are in the Alba-area I would recommend a visit here!
