Meraviglioso gioiello che meriterebbe di essere più "conosciuto": spettacolare, tutto molto interessante, soprattutto la sottostante chieda medioevale con i suoi mosaici: consigliatissima la visita!

Nel centro storico del paese si trova questa abbazia romanica/ barocca. Una piccola copia di San Pietro di Roma. Interno molto grande stile Barocco. C'è la tomba di re Arduino sotto l'altare. Si reca nella cripta dove ci sono le tombe di alcuni vescovi. La parte più bella vi è un percorso guidato sotto il pavimento dove hanno trovato pavimento in mosaico dell'anno 1000 della vecchia abbazia romanica, dove è rimasto il campanile. Guide preparate. Molto Bella.

Purtroppo questa abazia è aperta al pubblico solamente due domeniche al mese, la prima e la terza, dalle 15 alle 17.
Non si deve prenotare, la visita guidata è gratuita, ma consiglio di lasciare un'offerta.
Il signore che ci ha accompagnati, si è dimostrato un'ottima guida, il tempo passato insieme è volato ...
La chiesa è composta da quella vecchia, di cui rimangono i mosaici e le parti riportate alla luce dagli scavi effettuati e da quella che è stata costruita "sopra" all'altra. I lavori per permettere la visita della parte vecchia sono spettacolari.
Consiglio a tutti di visitarla!

Ci siamo arrivati quasi per caso, ma appena arrivati siamo stati invitati a partecipare alla visita gratuita dell'abbazia. Il signor Bruno (volontario) ci ha spiegato molto bene la storia della nuova abbazia (praticamente la miniatura di San Pietro in Vaticano) costruita su quella vecchia. Ci ha accompagnato nella visita ed esaustivamente ha risposto alle nostre domande. Esperienza che consigliamo.

È ammirevole che in una fredda domenica di gennaio questo paesino dispieghi energie e personale qualificato per promuovere un luogo di valore storico-artistico nella negletta provincia torinese (il paese pare pressoché in abbandono). I mosaici pavimentali valgono la visita, adeguatamente contestualizzati da una guida davvero preparata a cui va il nostro grazie.

Magnifica esperienza, soprattutto inaspettata, durante una domenica fuori porta con amici; l'Abbsazia di Fruttuaria è costruita su di una chiesa pre-esistente dell'anno 1003; ricca di mosaici ed utilizzata per sepolture (verosimilmente di religiosi dell'adiacente struttura) è stata riscoperta dopo la metà del XX secolo e ristrutturata creando un'opera molto bella a livello storico/ingegneristico: tutta la parte antica è stata scoperta, ripulita e resa visitabile, a piccoli gruppi, e la chiesa sovrastante (così voluta dal Cardinale Delle Lanze) galleggia su di una travatura realizzata in collaborazione col Politecnico di Torino. Certamente da visitare!

Se vi aspettate di visitare una Abbazia medievale rimarrete forse delusi. La chiesa Infatti risale soltanto alla fine del 1700. Rimangono tuttavia vestigia molto interessante nei sotterranei: alcuni mosaici risalenti al XI secolo, la Torre campanaria medievale romanica e alcune strutture antiche all'interno del chiostro. Tra i mosaici il più suggestivo è sicuramente quello che rappresenta due Grifoni. Buona l'organizzazione dei volontari che si prestano a fare da guida.

li per una fiera ,siamo andati a visitare abbazia che chiamano la piccola san Pietro ,ben tenuta con delle guide volontari che per 45 minuti ti fanno visitare tutto la parte superiore nuova del 1700 e la parte inferiore del 1000 con spiegazioni che sembrano romanzi

La chiesa attuale del 1770 è molto simile a tante altre chiese dell'epoca con la sua storia, con i suoi dipinti più o meno pregiati, con il suo bellissimo altare simile a quello della Basilica di San Pietro a Roma ed infine con il suo antico organo. E' da visitare la sacrestia, nelle mie varie visite a chiese e abbazie, una sacrestia così grande e così allestita non l'avevo mai vista; alcuni mobili del 1700 molto ben conservati e numerosi dipinti alle pareti. Durante dei lavori sono emerse le testimonianze di una chiesa molto più antica che era stata demolita per far posto all'attuale. La chiesa sotterranea è del 1003 così come il campanile romanico che tuttora troneggia a fianco della chiesa. La visita guidata prevede la discesa nei sotterranei dove è possibile entrare in una storia di oltre 1000 anni, compreso il campanile, accessibile solo al primo piano. Visita molto interessante e unica nel suo genere.
