We perform checks on reviews.
Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The signage is not great after you leave the A1 and it is a steep narrow road with passing difficult to get there.
There are two parts to visit.
First the small car park with picnic tables gives a marvelous view across Newry and even Carlingford lough.
Further up the road and you find an ancient cairn which is very impressive. Trying to imagine the ancient folks who lived and died there is really stimulating.
Go on up the hill and turn right will bring you to a better road home.
But it is all worth visiting.

Stunning views over the countryside, gorgeous place for a walk, well worth the drive up to this point.

In my opinion viewpoint offers the best views of Newry and the surrounding area, especially at night.
The beauty of the view isn't lost on the boyracers and teenagers of Newry who tend to turn it into a lover's lane at night- especially weekend nights.

It's unfortunately they always seem to be battling against fly tippers (illegal rubbish dumping) around it.

A Note of caution. It's remote and I seen some odd guys hanging around during the day so I wouldn't recommend women to go there on their own.

Dont be put off by the rubbish that seems to be permanently scattered around this site. If you park at the little car park and climb further up the hill behind, you get a much better view of the natural contours of the hills and layout of the Ring of Gullion. Back down to the road you can walk to Ballymacdermott Court Grave - with again spectacular views over the fields and hills of Gullion. There is a lot of litter and I saw an old fridge dumped at the side of the road - but if you can get over the mindlessness of whoever does this, the natural beauty of the area is hard to beat.

Not the best of roads, the view is good as long as you ignore the golf club, (not easy). I suppose visitors that don't know the area, may find it interesting.

Nice viewpoint with picnic tables. Access is by a very steep narrow road. Great views over the bypass to the town. 150 meters further on is the well preserved Ballymcdermot Court Carn.

This is a good place for short stops also when traveling (by car) alongside countryside of Ireland. Locates in Northern Ireland, where both pounds and euros will be accepted. Place is excellent for self arranged targets to take a look at beautiful scenes.

Bernish viewpoint in Newry. Council workers sat in lorry when this 'scenic' viewpoint was like this. This was during the Easter break at mid day. Newry and Mourne District Council should be ashamed.
