Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The walk is tiring but worth every step.
Fairy houses and giant steps in an inspired forest.
Enchanting and magical.
Great play park for children.
Loved it.
Don’t go passed without stopping.

We are so happy that we had a few hours of sunshine and were able to go to this amazing park. We had not heard of it until we arrived at our hotel nearby. It has an awesome playground (multiple play areas) for our kids (4 and 7), huge slide, maze, zip line, climbing walls, basketball court.
The giants walk through the forest (take the left hand trail, to the left of the playground) was an unexpected but super fun, well done experience. A story unfolds along the trail and there are little fairy details hidden amongst the trees, a music playground, a treehouse, all really well done and not cheezy as we kind of thought it would be.
10/10 one of the best things we did on our visit around the whole island….and totally free! (optional coffee truck for parents right in the parking lot was an added bonus).

Lovely afternoon out in the park, set in a beautiful forest this park has several different walks and lots to see for children as you walk around.

The walks range from 1m to over 9 miles for the longest which could take 3-4 hours.

Just make sure you are following the right walk when you go round as although they are all marked, some of the colours are quite similar.

In addition to the walks there is a "senic drive" that takes about 20 minutes around the forest, well worth doing if you do go there.

Going by the local myths of local druids the mountain is seen and always known from the Meigh side a least as the Sleeping Dragon. Many druids used to do ceremony there back in the 70s and 80s referring to the mountain as such. It would be more culturally relevant for the kids to enjoy the real Dragon myth of the area rather than the made-up Giants Lair trail no doubt inspired in a board room the other side of the mountain. Myth is in the perspective. Take a look from the Killeavy side I reckon and all will make sense. Every American I point the Dragon out to see it right away. No Giant I'm afraid. But lovely walk. Great Art and the kids loved it.

We have family who love nearby and have visited before, but have never done the forest trail until this visit.

Really nice little trail, not too rough for a buggy. Our little 14MO little boy was so intrigued by what he saw, he really enjoyed it.

Although our experience was slightly frazzled by some kids who ran wild with no consideration for other people (their parents just didn’t really care). For anyone else visiting, please consider other people who have also stopped at the different areas and ask your children to not run wild.

We only had time to do the wonderful scenic drive and would have loved to have grandchildren with us who have loved the play park.

We went here today for the first tim to the Giants Lair. It’s quite a long walk & it’s not really suitable for prams, wheelchairs or people who suffer mobility issues. We had a great time on the walk & in the play park. The park however was very busy when entering so we waited until we ended the trail.

The visitor centre including toilets were closed & there were signs up about toilets in Synge & Byrne cafe but no signs as to where it was. Overheard a worker telling someone they were closed getting a deep clean due to a Covid case.

We had to park in lower car park as there was a sign up saying car park was full but it wasn’t. We were wanting to go on the scenic drive but we couldn’t find the sign which I had read here it was there on the exit. A older lady stopped me in the car park asking about it too as she couldn’t find it. We come to realise it was actually up off the main car park which we had no access to. There was work going on at it when we were leaving letting no one in. Very disappointed about this!
