The area was very beautiful from the top of the hill where the fort is located. However, on the walk up we encountered quite a bit of dog mess. Owners need to clean up after their dogs! It's obvious that no one to very few people go up to maintain the area, which is strange considering that I would say... More

We found the whole thing quite disappointing. Great views of Cookstown and the surrounding area but the Fort itself was a let down. Not much to see.

A beautiful unspoilt area with a commanding view over mid ulster and further afield, best to go solo or small parties, to enjoy the peaceful atmosphere, interupted only by sounds of wildlife in the skies or in the bushes. A true getaway from it all thought cleanser.

A magical place....best to go not with a crowd to appreciate the atmosphere and imagine times gone by....unspoilt by modern day distractions, i.e. visitor centres, etc.

Tullyhogue Fort is a magical place which commands a spectacular view over the surrounding countryside. On a clear day you can even see the spires of St Patrick's RC Cathedral in the city of Armagh. The unique silhouette of the fort , provided by the trees against the sky, means that from any high vantage point around its usually very... More
