Plenty to see at this relatively small gallery in the centre of Port Sunlight. Remarkable that one (very wealthy) man put this collection together with the express aim of making it accessible to his workers. Not just paintings but furniture, scuplture and a remarkable collection of Wedgewood. Unfortunately when I visited, the rail link from the centre of Liverpool was... More

It's definitely a good way to spend an afternoon. The gallery is well laid out and has some wonderful paintings when they're not on loan to others, that is. The Pre-Raphaelite section is enchanting and information on each of the artists and painting is easily accessible. It's then nice to go downstairs and have a cup of tea and a... More

We visited here for the first time with a 6 and 9 year old. Initially we thought the kids wouldn't like it, but they enjoyed it. Their first response was "wow" at the building. There were lots of pictures, statues and furniture to look at. Kids also got a nice welcome and got a clipboard each so they could do... More

Lady Lever Art Gallery is a great place to soak in some culture, especially if you have kids. It's a classical gallery, but I am always impressed by the effort they make to keep it interactive. Maps, colouring in and DIY art make it a lovely family venue. The staff are lovely, and there's a cafe downstairs. The area around... More

For a gallery of this calibre the cafe space is very disappointing and the food completely unimaginative. There were no jacket potatoes and the cheese and tomato filled roll was absolutely tasteless. Even the coffee was mediocre and the cup tiny and only three quarters full. As for the gallery itself the collection is very interesting although I found there... More

Visit to Picasso Linocuts exhibition & The Gallery cafe where we partook from the Breakfast Menu the Lady Lever brunch muffin which consisted of 2 poached eggs served on a toasted muffin, topped with hollandaise sauce + a bacon rasher. At £5.95 it was very could value and very tasty. The staff were also very courteous. I would certainly recommend... More

If you haven't been here then you are missing out on some of the finest art and antiquities in the area. Its not the biggest gallery you will visit, but the variety within is worth the effort.

This is a great opportunity to have a really stylish arty cafe with great contemporary food but its just the usual tea and cakes, sandwiches and chips etc. Loads of tables though but you have to serve yourself so when its busy there are queues.

The history of the art gallery is amazing. A man who set up a 'soap empire' and was a total philanthropist building an estate for his workers with schools, hospitals, theatres, churches of all denominations also loved his wife enough to build an art gallery in her memory. This is totally a place to visit with amazing art, sculptures and... More
