We were visiting Birkenhead for the day and amongst the many things that we had no idea were here and left us very impressed with the place and determined to come back was the old tram that followed us into the tram terminal. Sadly, I never went on it as we were rushing for the ferry and they seemed to... More

We decided to go here at short notice but were not disappointed. I noticed on the web site that it would be open on the 4th January. My wife and I were able to ride on the 1st tram of 2017. As it was the first tram of the day the driver had to get out and open several gates... More

Trams are ran by enthusiasts and we are so pleased that people take time and effort to keep these historic trams going. Well worth a visit coupled with the cafe at Woodside ferry terminal.

We attended the Wirral Bus & Tram Show and had a excellent time. We boarded our first tram outside the Transport Museum on Taylor Street. There were queues of people but the Trams were running a lot sooner than the usual timetable. I found all the staff (mostly volunteer drivers and conductors) to be very friendly who a had passion... If you would like a trip down memory lane this is the perfect outing. You can also combine this with a trip on the ferry as pick up point is at Woodside ferry Birkenhead. Check directly as to when the service runs or go to their on line site for further information.

I have had the privaledge of working on the tram rails. To keep them clear. The staff are friendly and will give you all the information about the line without hesitation. It is only a short ride but good fun just the same.

This is a modest attraction, but well worth waiting for the next ferry back to Liverpool for. The trams are excellently restored and its a real treat to watch the trolley being turned! The museum itself is literally crammed with vehicles and related memorabilia which will get locals talking about what it used to be like, and give visitors a... More

Arriving at the Museum at 1315hrs we were just in time to board the century old Birkenhead Corporation tram for the run to the U-Boat museum and ferry terminal. The upper deck offered a superb experience, rattling along with some good views of the river Mersey and also some historic dockyard premises. The experience will differ depending on which tram... My husband loves trams so we came and had a ride on a heritage tram. We got off and went around the museum which has a very large model train set and then back on for the return journey. It is in a very good location and we managed to park in the ferry terminal which is handy. I would... More
