I have visited here several times as i like to see latest exhibitions on display. Entry is free but you can donate if you wish in reception. The first exhibition was lovely,it was fabric art using various materials, paint and embroidery. There is a large impressive fabric peacock when you first walk in.There was quite a varied display in this exhibition and the detail was amazing. There is also lovely pottery display by "Della Roberts Pottery" in Birkenhead which had some stunning exhibits on display. One of my favourite rooms is the exhibition of ships, boats models which are dedicated to Birkenhead"s history of ship building.I enjoy looking at every detail on these models and they are so realistic. I also found a display about the women who work at Camel Laird"s shipyard. Each photograph had information about the woman in the picture and their role in the shipyard. At the very end rooms there were exhibitions by Alan J Ward who purchased negatives that told the history of the photographer Sydney J Gearing and his family.Apparently Sydney used to visit the Williamson art gallery. Alan Ward then decided to display the discovered photographs, but he also used the original camera and look into local places that Sydney Gearing was involved in. There is the Oxton book shop where you can purchase books about the Wirral and surrounding area, oils and paints are also available t buy. The cafe in the gallery was closed but has now re-opened.Toilets available by the cafe. There is a disability toilet for wheelchair users and a lift to the public garden. There is a seating area in the garden. Lovely place to visit and to read about the local history of the ship builders.…

In my opinion, the museum was the most aesthetically pleasing place i have ever visited, the art gave me and my gorgeous daughter the most pleasure, i was astonished, i had not seen such great art since di caprio created the Eiffel tower. Suddenly my daughter need to release urine so i took her to the bathroom, of course i went in with her as she is six however as she went to sit on the toilet seat, there was a dildo almost concreted within the wall, quickly i took me socks off and removed my daughter from the building, to say the least she is now scared for life due to her such young eyes being graced on such a thing…

Out toilets are checked regularly. It would have been helpful if you had reported your find to the staff.
