Beautiful church inside and out. Lovely staff and a great shop too. Informative boards giving the history of the church and its spire. Well worth a visit.

Weird
Jul 2021 • Friends
My twin brother Stephen and I were on the train travelling from Liverpool to Nottingham and passed through Chesterfield and what caught my eye from Chesterfield Railway Station was The Parish Church Of St Mary And All Saints, a wonderful looking Grade II listed building that was constructed in 1360,its most definitely some serious history attached to it.
What sets this church apart is the awesome looking twisted spire ,it actually looks like an optional illusion, it leans over 9 feet ,it's just looks so wierd and so beautiful, it's Chesterfields most famous landmark, most definitely well worth checking out if you're in the town and easy to locate along Church Way.

Crooked Spire
Jul 2021 • Couples
First time visit to the church with the crooked spire. Covid one way system in place, visited late afternoon which wasn't at all busy. Slow walk around with lots of historical information available. Interesting story as to why the spire us crooked, never gave guessed.

Recommended visit if in the area

Relaxing and enjoyable

Always wanted to see the crooked spire, and was not disappointed, such a beautiful place inside and out, was a small gift shop with spire things to buy, the grounds were absolutely lovely and peaceful, and was able to watch the bees on the lawn, the town centre is also very nice, I really loved my day there, and look forward to returning hopefully at Christmas time

Uninspiring

The twisted spire for which the town is renown is truly spectacular and can be seen from miles around, However the interior is nothing special.

A large church for the town, but with excellent architecture, including the famous crooked spire. Worth a visit inside as well.

Unfortunately not open but beautiful

We walked up to the church at around 9 am but unfortunately it was still shut. We took some photos from the outside and carried on walking. It is situated in the main square, with lots to do around, plenty shopping spots.
