Called in today with my children and grandchildren, it was very busy and all tables were full. No problem for the beautiful landlady and her hard working husband. There was a table downstairs, we expected a long wait for food with it being busy. The...More

Looking for a nice atmosphere and a good meal, we found this by chance and had a very tasty, freshly cooked well sized meal, helped down with a well kept local beer. Friendly service, well priced and comfortable, and dog friendly.

Recommended by a local person we met in Cromford and it more than exceeded expectations. Homely traditional style pub -nearly opposite amazing book shop. Well kept beer and superb food, beautifully cooked although place was very busy.

We hadn't booked, which was a mistake turning up on a Friday night with a family of 6 to eat. However, although it was clearly busy and there weren't any suitable tables available, Lorraine put herself out, rearranged the tables and found us a space....More

Called in last minute and although they seemed full they found us a table with our dog too nothing was to much trouble. There was great atmosphere live music in the background. Really good cider and good wholesome pub grub.... a great relaxed evening.

Decent response that was useful - Steak night is incredibly busy (on average over 70 meals) and therefore its all set up for that particular style of service - not putting the menu on as well is a risk but after a constructive review like...More
