We love markets. Nice to have an explore in a quaint little town. However Ripon's market is very small and not much there. Sorry to sound negative. If you are looking for a good market go to Northallerton.
Called at Ripon Market en-route to fountains Abbey.it is held in a square in the centre of town. Not a great deal of stalls but there is a good selection cheese plants bakery clothes etc.
