    An amazing day out!!!
An absolutely amazing day out. Didn't get to see all the animals - when do you ever when the enclosures are designed for the animals and not for the visitors - but I did see some (spotted hyenas and painted dogs) I've never seen before. Watching the painted dogs at feeding time was a delight, and something I would highly recommend seeing.
Thank you for taking the time to leave us an amazing review. We are all really pleased to hear that you had an amazing visit with us and we hope to see you again soon. Best Wishes, The YWP Team

    Brilliant. 10/10.
Absolutely brilliant and definitely worth the money. Not too expensive and has so much to see and offer. There are so many animals and a huge dinosaur part, it’s amazing. We spent the whole day there and it was a great day out.

Please don't spoil such a beautiful wildlife park
I have been visiting YWP for a few years, a few visits each year. We love seeing the animals and our first visit this year did not disappoint on that front. Wonderful amazing animals so well looked after. This is why we love the park so much. The new addition of the dinosaurs does not fit in my opinion, becoming more of a theme park. We noticed there is a large wheel now being put in place. Please don't turn beautiful Yorkshire Wildlife Park into a park with loads of roads and in words of a six year old 'animals that are not real'
Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review. We are glad to hear you enjoyed your visit with us. We hope you return soon for another visit. Best Wishes, The YWP Team

    POLAR BEARS!!!! Great Day Out!
Fantastic park! YWP is starting to set itself apart from other UK zoos. Plenty of space for animals to roam and enjoy , as well as beautiful scenery and enclosures for customers to enjoy! The sealion enclosure is spectacular is ar better than Whipsnades old one (where the sealions came from). The polar bears are awesome and worth the 2 hour drive alone! Great zoo and great walk! Do where comfortable footwear and waterproof if unsure of weather as there is limited shelter and animal housing you can enter! It will be interesting to see what happens next at YWP as you can see further construction behind the Red Pandas and otters and there is room between the Hyenas and Dinosaur walk through! I also personally enjoyed the Gelada's, very rarely do you see them in such a natural habitat similar to that of their native habitat!
Thank you for taking the time to leave us a great review. We glad to hear that you had a lovely day out at the park. We hope to see you again soon in the near future. Best Wishes, The YWP Team

    An excellent wildlife park!
A really nice afternoon out, we appreciated this is a wildlife park and not a zoo, and we are observing the animals in their "natural" habitat. A lot of the animals were inside but with a bit of patience we eventually saw a lot (later on in the afternoon when it got quieter and the school children had gone). It was interesting to learn about animals we had not previously heard of like opaki and gelanda monkeys, the information boards were all really informative and we learned a lot about the effort to save endangered animals. A really nice afternoon out but I would recommend going later on a week day if possible. The only draw back were the naff dinosaurs at the end.
Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review. We are all really pleased that you had a great day at the park. We hope to see you again in the near future. Best Wishes, The YWP Team

A great chance to see some amazing animals up close whose welfare seems to be the priority.
Really enjoyed our visit to Yorkshire Wildlife Park. There is lots of car parking available and unlike many places it is close to the park entrance. The entrance itself is through a small retail area with some very nice shops and eateries. What is nice is that this is the only noticeable commercial area and once through the admission gates the animals take centre stage. The park is fairly big and be prepared for a walk (we clocked in at almost 6 miles for the day). The paths are wide, clear and level and there are mobility scooters available to hire. The animals at the park include Red Pandas, Giraffes, Rhinos, Tigers, Painted dogs, Hyenas, Sea Lions and two Polar Bear enclosures and more. Each enclosure looked spacious and clean and the animals all looked well cared for and well treated. There are talks by the Rangers at various times of the day for different animals which we found very educational and non-preachy as some places tend to be when talking about conservation. The whole place gives you confidence that the welfare of the animals is the priority and even though I had my reservations about animals in captivity before going, at no time did I feel the animals were being exploited for my amusement. The story of how the Lions were initially rescued from terrible conditions in 2010 in Romania and the beginnings of the Park itself is an amazing story. The two Polar Bear enclosures home eight bears in total and is one of only two places in the UK where they can be seen. Again, the welfare of the animals is the priority and it was amazing to see these beautiful animals up close. The park has lots of places to stop and rest with plenty of benches and picnic areas. The food is a little expensive in the park but not excessive for an attraction. With the park being so large the only problem we had on the day was finding our way around . The maps are not great and some of the paths led to dead ends or went a long way round so it was confusing and a bit frustrating. Overall a really good day out and a chance to see some amazing animals.

Amazing day out! Lovely spacious clean enclosures, animals thriving. First time visiting somewhere to see red pandas and actually seeing them. Seeing polar bears for the first time. Cannot recommend enough. Fabulous day out can’t wait to bring the grand kids! Only down side is there is a lot of walking and. It much shade on a hot day like today.

Absolutely brilliant, went to see the Polar Bears and was blown away by their size and presence. Plenty of viewing area, lots of places to shelter from the rain. Animals look happy, content and playful and worth every penny

It has been a good five years since we last visited and wow has the park developed since then! The entrance has now moved and a whole new section of the park opened up. Car parking is much improved with hard standings. The entrance has.a variety.of shops.and restaurants and can be accessed without entering the park. New to us was the dinosaur.park ! Simply brilliant and designed to match the layout of the other sections.of the park. Hyenas and monkeys next followed by a bit a trek across a bridge and into the "old" park. Still as good as ever but some of the amenities at the old entrance seem to have been slightly neglected over the newer buildings at the Hive. Highlights will always be lion country and project polar with the polar bears. Slightly annoying that Project Polar 2 is advertised on the maps but is still under construction! Over 10km walked and a full day out - well worth the visit!

It’s been on my my to do list for a long time and yesterday we made it. Visiting with friends we enjoyed seeing the animals in a beautiful, clean environment. The one thing that let it down was catering.
We looked at the list of cafes on the website prior to our visit brochure and felt that we would be well served by the offers available. Wrong! Most were closed, a fact you only knew when you arrived at them as there was no pre warning of which were closed and which were open. We eventually found Masai cafe which was disappointing to say the least. Some of the advertised items were not available and several vacated tables stayed empty during our stay because they were not cleared of debris and spills. I’m not blaming the staff here, there didn’t seem to be many on site. If I came again I wouldn’t use the on site catering which is a shame because presumably the profit goes into supporting the fabric of the park. In short the catering arrangements are terrible in what is a fantastic Yorkshire asset.

My son and I are on a zoo trip over the british isles and this was one of the zoo's we visited. Great zoo. Large enclosures, giving the animals room to live. But also places around it for visitors to find and see them. Finally a group of maned wolves and also polar bears. The pangea dino part is also nice to get an idea of what has lived here before us.

My family have had season passes for several years now. The value with the passes is incredible. My daughter is 4 and it’s not unusual for us to visit 2/3 times a week in summer.

Decent food options on site (sausage rolls at the giraffe cafe 🤤), but we sometimes take a picnic and make a day of it.

Plenty of parks around for the kids. The indoor play area at the far end of the park is free, our daughter loves it.

They regularly have special events/shows on.

Throughly enjoyed our two visits to YWP. Specifically went to see the polar bears as one was adopted for my husband’s birthday. We were not disappointed! All the enclosures are amazing and very educational. The Pangea (dinosaur trail) is a must for all dinosaur fans young and old. It was an unexpected bonus. Plenty of places to eat with wide variety of refreshments and plenty of picnic areas. Very easy to manoeuvre around the park as it is fairly flay with good walking surfaces. Pushchair and wheelchair access appears to be very good. Car parking also excellent and free. We will be making return visits.

Having seen news that new lions had been introduced to the park we paid a visit. And it was really well worth it. Sadly one or to of the animals were being shy (Howler monkeys, ant eaters and cheetah weren't spotted) we had a brilliant time.
The staff were all very helpful and the animals all looked well fed and had plenty of space to wander. The Amur tigers and leopards were amazing. So spectacular. We loved the polar bears, giraffe, ringtailed lemur, lions (The most recent addition being rescued from Ukraine are still settling in.) capuchin, sealions - the list goes on. This place is really focused on protecting the environment and some of the animals are part of international breeding programmes.
There are plenty of areas for the children to play and places to eat.

Had a fantastic day out yesterday, we were lucky enough to see many of the animals and I finally got to see the bush dogs for the first time! Seeing Auckley the leopard was a real treat as well.

While there we did the hyena experience which was incredible. Getting to go behind the scenes and meet with Speedy, Grenada and Maverick was amazing, especially seeing how big Grenada was. The keeper who showed us around was very informative, and myself and my friend were very impressed.

Will definitely be coming again! My only complaint is that the zoo could use a few more benches near some of the enclosures, sometimes we had to walk for quite a while to find somewhere to sit down.

A great attraction and the kids loved it. Dinosaurs were great and quite believable and there were plenty of animals to see. Spotlessly clean and all the staff were friendly too. Only negative was the price of the refreshments, £3.30 for a magnum ice cream and £6.50 for spiced chips!! Overall a good day but didn't appreciate getting ripped off for snacks.

Extremely disappointed. Visited today to celebrate my wife’s 70th birthday. We had intended to spend the whole day here including getting some lunch etc.
there where between 12 and 15 school groups of unsupervised and undisciplined children who where running around screaming. We could not get a seat in the pavilion area, the shop was full.
A totally un enjoyable day. We stayed about 90 minutes then left. I asked at the office if this was normal and was advised it is. Visitors during the week beware.
A waste of £56.

Really sorry but this attraction just didn’t live up to expectations! We came away so disappointed as we had been looking forward to visiting with our 15 month old grandchild.Although the park can’t control this but we saw hardly any animals.Maybe they were keeping in the shade, who knows! The whole park, although very clean, didn’t have any wow factor. We were very underwhelmed by the whole visit. We also thought it is way over-priced.The best part was the dinosaur trail!!What a shame.Well,we’ve been now and won’t be returning. We’ll stick to Lotherton Hall on the outskirts of Leeds which has a beautiful bird sanctuary, flamingos, penguins, wallabies plus other mammals. It even has a bat enclosure. We have an annual family pass for £50.Now that’s what I call value for money.Sorry YWP you just didn’t live up to the hype sadly but I do have to say well done for your conservation work!!
