Lovely pint

Top quality pint of Guinness for €4.20 sure what more would you want? Nice mix of clientele, both locals and tourists, when we visited. For me that's a really good sign.

Irish Literary giant John B. Keane is a hard act to follow - especially behind the bar of his eponymous pub. But son Billy, no mean scribbler himself, seems to be doing a grand job of following in giant footsteps.Billy hosted a raucous party on New Year's Eve. And you could hardly lift an elbow between the poets and the... More

A "must " go-to stop in Listowel for everyone. Experience a true local pub and be a part of history at the same time. John B. Keane was an important contributor to Irish literature.

Our tour company had arranged for a private visit to this pub. This was owned by the Irish playwright John B Keane and is now run by his son. During our stay his son told stories of his father and his growing up at the pub along with his experiences since taking over the pub. It lasted a little over... More

John B Keane's is the most famous pub in Kerry! Best for the atmosphere and the craic - they even serve beer too! Well worth a visit. Be prepared to while away a few hours in deep conversations with the patrons on just about anything! Highly recommend a pit stop here.
