Welcome to Dingle Horse Riding. Set on the dramatic and beautiful west coast of Ireland, we specialise in two hour to week long riding holidays for experienced riders, taking in all the beauty and exhiliration of the mountains and beaches the Dingle Peninsula has to offer. We also offer one hour mountain rides for novice/beginner riders. Our horses are mostly Irish sporthorses, with some draught, cob and appaloosa, ranging from 14hh to 17hh. We pride ourselves in having happy, well-cared for and well turned out horses, friendly knowledgeable guides and great routes designed for both fantastic riding and views. Beginner/novice riders can only be taken on the 1 hour mountain ride. Only riders intermediate/advanced experienced in the English style of riding, able to post/rising trot and ride two point/forward seat in canter can be taken to the beaches. Riders will be assessed in the arena before leaving the yard, and during the one hour ride. In the interests of safety, and at the discretion of the guide, riders judged to be beginner/novice or inexperienced in an English style of riding will not be taken to the beach.

My only complaint is about booking. During the winter they switch from a 10:30am and 2:30pm rides to just a 12pm ride. Although this is on the site while booking 12pm wasn't an option. Also in the signature of someone I emailed it listed to 10:30/2:30 options, but not the 12pm winter option. My fiance (an experienced rider) and I... More

We did the 1.5 hr winter trek. Absolutely fantastic. Staff were knowlegable, friendly, and experienced. The horses were clearly well looked after, groomed, not overworked. I've done the one hour trail ride at Killarney Riding Stables and was very disappointed but THIS place, wow, I think it was worth every cent. Since my friend and I had experience riding we... More

Read the poor reviews here! I wish I had. My friend and I, experienced riders who both owned horses years ago, had a horrible time here. The woman (Karen?) in charge of the ride decided before we stepped on a horse that we were not good enough riders, largely because we have both spent more time riding Western. She said... More

I was fortunate to have a guide and myself the day that I went - it was windy and cool but a fantastic trail with splendid views. I hadn't been on a horse in a while, but was instantly comfortable with their staff and the horse that I rode.

Without any doubt! I have an incredible experience. Trails on the mountain or on the beach, are both breathtaking. Thanks to Susan, Karen and the whole professional and kind team running these stables.

My boyfriend and I did the Shamrock Trail about 2 weeks ago and it was my favorite part of the entire trip! Neither of us had ever ridden a horse before but the staff made us feel comfortable and the views on the ride were simply amazing! We had 3 staff members on the ride with us, 2 on horses... More

My daughter and I wanted to ride in Dingle, so chose Long's because of the good reviews and that we could ride traditional Irish Cobb Horses. This is a great place with a very friendly and helpful staff. The horses were well-mannered, and our guide was friendly, and truly enjoyed her job. This was a highlight of our trip and... More

My husband and I went to Dingle specifically for riding. I was told by another rider that it was worth the trip, and that the beach rides were unbelievable (she was right). I have been riding my whole life, currently doing hunter jumper. My husband, was definitely a beginner, with little to no experience. Before we went on this trip... More

Our several hour ride with DHR was basically my daughter's bachelorette (hen) party (groom included) before her fairytale Irish wedding the next day. There were 5 of us from Nashville, Tennessee, ranging from advanced intermediate to expert riders and we were combined with a group of 4 other riders with similar experience. The guides and Karen carefully observed us riding... More

I owned a horse for several years, and am well-versed in riding, yet I was told after 3 seconds in the testing arena that they were not comfortable having me on the 4 hour ride I had paid for, and was offered the 2-hr trail instead. I felt this was extremely unfair, as I was not given the chance to... More
