The brewery is based the old creamery building on Spa Rd.,Dingle. Opened in 1888 the creamery became the economic epicenter of the Dingle Peninsula and was a vital commercial center for the area, especially after 1916 and the following troubled years which had left the economy, especially agriculture, in a perilous state. The owners of Dingle Brewing Co., have been mindful of the place that this building has in the history of the area and have lovingly restored it, retaining its charm and character. By running the brewery and also offering tours to the general public and tourist market the Dingle Brewing Co. hope to restore the level of importance which this building had previously enjoyed and make it an essential part of the Dingle experience as well as providing employment for people in the town. As well as offering tours they will be producing ‘Tom Crean’s’ Premium Irish Lager’, the first pint of which will be poured, quite fittingly, in the South Pole Pub, Annascaul, Co. Kerry. The very pub, which the great man Tom Crean ran after retiring from his Antarctic expeditions. The lager will be available initially in selected osupplied as demand dictates. The Dingle Brewing Co. is aiming to rejuvenate the unique atmosphere of socialising in an Irish pub by producing a premium Irish lager which will appeal to both the public and the publican alike and provide a focal point for friends to get together, enjoying that unique atmosphere, each others company and a pint or a glass of ‘Crean’s’

We decided to visit after tasting Crean's beer at a pub here in Dingle. The self-guided tour isn't much, but the visitor center has some interesting artifacts and we certainly enjoyed our pints. This would be a good rainy day activity but is probably not worth going out of your way. If you don't visit the brewery, I still recommend... More

We stopped here with the Irish Cultural Center of West Springfield ma . We were given a tour along with history of Tom Crean. Very interesting and brewery was filled with artifacts. Everyone was given a pint of Creans at end of tour. It was a nice change of pace and I found myself ordering Creans at other pubs.

Self guided tour which starts with the brewing process and then becomes what I felt is a bit of a mish mash of information about the creamery and Tom Creans expeditions. I feel that they could tie in the Tom Creans story with the naming of the beer and how it all came about. Lots of really good artifacts and... More

A little pricy for a self guided tour (6 euros) but it includes a pint at the end. Great history lesson about the life of Tom Crean, a native of County Kerry who started a brewery/pub in his retirement years.

Stopped in for the tour and a pint. Turns out the tour is self guided and just a room with some printed information about beer in Ireland, the brewery, and a few vessels. The beer is just another lager, clean but nothing special IMHO. Fine activity to get out of the rain but a poor excuse for a brewery tour... More

So Ireland is not only known for their Guinness, there are others out there as well. This brewery only makes a lager and it is very good. We took the tour today and saw how it was made and all about Tom Crean, for whom their beer is named. Their tasting room is full of memorabilia of the Antarctica explorers.... More

Bring your smooth, easy drinking Irish lager with you on a self-guided tour about beer, brewing and adventurer Tom Crean. Staff is friendly, and this will be the most laid-back drink you have on your trip.

Don't leave Dingle without visiting this amazing little gem right outside of town. The history of their Creans Beer is worth the trip. They have created a wonderful atmosphere in the brewery's tasting room. For a very low admission fee you can tour the brewery and learn a bit about the history of beer, and the history of the brewery.... More
