Carne Golf Links lies in magnificent unspoiled sand dunes overlooking Blacksod Bay and the wild Atlantic Ocean near Belmullet Co. Mayo in the west of Ireland. Carne was the last links course to be designed by the late Eddie Hackett and it is now believed by many who have played it to be his greatest challenge. The building of Carne has caused little disturbance to this wild and ancient landscape. Tees and greens occurred naturally and very little earth moving was involved in the course construction. Along the course are some breathtaking views over the Atlantic and the legendary islands of Inis Glóire and Inis Géidh

Been waiting a long time to play this one after reading ‘a course called Ireland’. Very difficult the first time as you really need to know your way around. The young man in the pro shop called Nathan is a superb ambassador for your course....More

I am not an expert golfer and this is a challenging course where you frequently can not view the flag for all the dunes. One guaranty good or bad as a golfer the experience is fun and unforgettable.

1st stop in a 4 course tour Mayo/Sligo. What a course. Magnificent views, ample fairways making it playable, each hole offering something special. It's well worth the trip. Bar & restaurant excellent. Don't pass it by.

Even if you play modest golf the fresh air and the views from all parts of the course are worth the green fee in itself.

A unique and wonderful golf course that is classically designed and enjoyable to play. The scenery is hard to imagine, as the views are immense. The fairways are ample and the rough while vast is not the same as other courses where it is unplayable....More

I played Carne links twice in 2017 (end july) and once in 2016 (june). The course is unique, natural, scenic, challanging ... great! Greens and fairways were perfect! All damages of a flood in 2016 were recovered. I love golfing in Ireland and I played...More
