Magical walk in the country and only 20 mins from downtown Dublin. Scenic driving roads, although a little dangerous at time. Well worth coming here

Really pretty scenery. Walks along the beach and coast offer great views. Great day out for families, dog walkers or keen walkers.

Great long walk from Portrane along the cliffs and the full lenght of Donabate beach. Stop off for a well earned lunch at the Tower Bar Bistro at the Waterside Hotel. Good reasonably priced food with a sea view.

I am lucky enough to live 3 miles away from the beach. You can either walk along the sandy beach and have a paddle or walk the opposite direction along the cliffs towards Portrane .Great views of Irelands Eye Island, which I think you can...More

A lovely beach from which to walk with views across to Lambay Island, Malahide, Portmarnock and Howth or to swim in used by locals and tourists. Safe, clean and a great place for a picnic, to walk the dog or meet and have a chat

If you travel north from Dublin, there is loads to see! Many people stop at Malahide and don't go further - this is a mistake. Donabate beach is somewhat off the beaten path and you will have to drive to get there (or cycle from...More

You can walk right down to the bottom of Donabate Beach and feel like a hop skip and a jump you could land on the Malahide side of the Estuary. Don't try it though.....the water is VERY deep and it would be extremely dangerous. It...More

We stayed at the hotel which was right on the beach. But The town was only a three minute drive from the hotel. The beach is also huge so you’re probably safe to walk or ride your bike from anywhere you’re staying
