Malahide Castle & Gardens is a beautiful & historic medievel castle, with a facinating story dating back to the 12th Century. Located on the beautiful north coast of Dublin City Malahide Castle was once owned by the Talbot Family for nearly 800 years and is one of the longest owned castles by one family in the country. Set on 250 acres of stunning parkland, Malahide Castle is also home to one of Ireland’s four botanical walled gardens with 5000 species of plants inculding a wonderful collection from many Southern Hemisphere countries. Guided tours of the castle take place daily from 9.30am all year round. Our friendly and informative guides bring to life the story of the Talbot family during the 45 minute tour through the main reception rooms & bedrooms. The modern & bright visitor centre is home to the garden exhibition area and gives access to the Talbot Botanical Walled Garden. Avoca Cafe & retail is located in the visitor centre and is a treasure trove of wonderful gifts.

We didn’t go into the castle. We opted for the “free” walk around the grounds. There isn’t a map to follow- there are plaques around the route to follow but we checked with the castle staff about the walk as we’d been here before but...More

I visited for several concerts. The venue was great with beautiful views of the castle. Only thing, be prepared for a long walk to the venue although you might see some cute fluffy bunnies and the odd inquisitive squirrel along the way

Set in the most beautiful countryside our visit to the Castle was greatly enhanced by our guide, Aidan, who walked and talked us through eight hundred years of the Castle's & Talbot family's history in the most entertaining informative way.

Yes you can, we didn’t buy a ticket for the castle, just for gardens, so one side of the castle you will definitely see, and the inner side (and more impressive views as to me) from the gardens you won’t, but it’s still... More

Yes, it states in the email that you can show the ticket on your phone. I did just that and all went smoothly.
