Ballymaloe Cookery School- what can I say? From the gardens to the shop, to the dining rooms and kitchens, this place is a visual paradise. The flowers in the reception area, the hens on the grass, the herbs in the herb garden and the aromas from the kitchens were such a delight to the senses. I enjoyed a week long... More

This was a quality experience, a second visit for me. The theme was an Indian meal with all its accompaniments. It was explained in such a straightforward way that made me feel I would be able to replicate it at home and hopefully present it with the same flair. Lovely to taste it all at the end too. I am... A really fantastic course, such inspiration. This course was a mix of gardening, milking the cows, demos and hands on cooking with extra activities like smoking, foraging and cheese making. I stayed in the cottages which are beautifully decorated each with a log burning fire and a grand farmhouse-style kitchen. It was so easy to make friends as everyone has... More

I visited here with my family of five for the first time in about ten years hoping for a lovely relaxing lunch based on its reputation for good pizza. Admittedly it was Easter Saturday and 1.30 pm so we expected it to be busy but any professional set up would surely anticipate this and bring in extra staff to cope.... More

2 of us booked the hot and cold smoking demonstration and made a weekend of it and stayed in Cork City. Fantastic. All a bit handmade and slightly chaotic but really interesting, entertaining and tasty of course. I couldn't fault it. Lots of practical demonstration inc making your own smoker. Great great of the food and recipes after.

There is a pizza shop open every Saturday 12-16:00. Pizza is rather plain.Dough is rubbery, cheese is unmemorable, prices are high. Rustic farm atmosphere and views compensates for lack of pizza . This is as good as any other wood burning oven pizza, but only worth the trip if you are in the area. Visit Ballymaloe estate itself, that is... More

The winding road through the countryside brings to this little piece of heaven- a friendly dog watches you arrive and the informal setting inside is out shined by the beautiful scenery. Summer months allow for a tour of the gardens but ever in autumn it is worth the view. We tried 4 kinds of pizza and the lamb was my... More

Really wonderful gardens, the visit requires at least half a day to see it all properly. Highlights were the shell house, the chickens with fluffy legs, the perfect vegetables in the giant poly tunnels. You are discounted if staying in the hotel and the shop is good for foodie treats and equipment.

I had always wanted to go here & the experience didn't disappoint. The course was fantastic. The team behind the cookery school is awesome - it's a real family affair. The cookery demonstrations were seamless - the teachers in the kitchens amazing. The school had a lovely atmosphere. I loved every minute of it.

What a fabulous place and an incredible family! My husband gave me a two and a half day course as a birthday present, and we both went on the excellent 'Fast and Fabulous' course. I am a keen gardener and cook and knew there were gardens to visit too but I was quite blown away by the incredible organic greenhouse... More
