Barry was the best storyteller I have ever experienced. He had the perfect balance of humor and knowledge. I had read about the 1601 battle that occurred in this area from an Irish history book and it was great to hear him talk about it while visualizing the town and port. He also recommended some books to read which was... More

Wonderful walking tour of Kinsale! From the moment Barry collected us, he was engaging and informative. He provided us with lots of great historical information about Kinsale, which is a great town packed full of historical happenings. I can’t say enough about how wonderful Barry was, he even gave us extra information regarding the area which we used for the... More

We all loved this tour. We did a private family tour. We were picked up at hotel by Barry. He walked us all around Kinsale and was a wonderful walking encyclopedia of historic local information. Kinsale is a small town rich in Irish history! We encourage you to make a call and do this tour. You will not regret it!

If you have an interest in history (and I do) there is no better or more interesting way than a stroll with someone from the place who knows that history and also has a way with words and wit. I walked with Barry and heard stories and learned little interesting facts I would never otherwise have found. The walk was... More

We had a great time on this tour (actually took it April 2016...sorry it took so long to write our review!). Incredibly friendly and knowledgable and one of the best tours we have taken together as a couple. This was extra special as it was our honeymoon and Barry made us feel incredibly welcome! I could see people of all... More

The tour of the beautiful village of Kinsale with Barry was just as advertised: a stroll and plenty of history. The weekend tour we joined was a large group (20-25) but Barry did an excellent job of organizing us so that we never had difficulty hearing his stories or asking questions. The history of the port village was fascinating and... More

We have been to Knsale several times before but this is the first time we did the walk. The story of Kinsale was so refreshingly new and opened another face on Ireland history.

Our group of 3 siblings and 2 spouses were extremely pleased to have Barry as our walking tour guide of Kinsale. We read about this tour in Rick Steve's guidebook. We learned a lot about the town and thoroughly enjoyed Barry's informative commentary throughout the tour.

The tour with Don Moloney (of Don & Barry's Historic Stroll) was a highlight of our tour of County Cork and an our weeklong tour of Ireland. Informative, entertaining, and engaging, the tour was excellent. It touched on the geography of the harbour and town and noted the ripples through history of the Battle of Kinsale in 1601. It didn't... More
