We attended on a mixed weather day. Much more too see than we expected! A very extensive fort, occupied between 1600s and 1921! Weird, but really interesting mix of medieval fort and 1800s army barracks (mostly in ruins). Good amount of ramparts open to visitors with stunning sea views and views of the town of Kinsale. Interesting exhibition space in... More

This was fantastic. So much to walk around, so many incredible ruins to see and walk THROUGH. We were warned it might be closed and we'd just see it from the outside, that alone would have been cool, but it was open and walking through each portion of it was AMAZING. And all of it is right alongside the water,... More

It was lovely, and impressive and yes you are given a jist of things to look out for when walking about but I think there could be a bit more information on the buildings themselves. A nice stroll nonetheless.

This historic castle has a very nice location, and a beautiful view of the water. Very interesting architecture. Was lucky to go there on a sunny day. Would recommend it to anyone visiting Kinsale. Takes around an hour for the full tour.

The old ruins of Charles Fort are impressive but nowhere's a panel that says you have to pay (but...you could think it is obviously bc in Ireland you have to pay for everything). The students-entrance is not expensive though. I think it is worth when the weather is nice and the sun is shining. Take your camera with you!
