Not a lot to say really, a beautiful Saturday morning walk from Kinsale to here, good views of the harbour.

I was well impressed by this fort. This is free of charge to visit. Once your willing to climb some grass slopes and small paths. Again there are fantastic views of the ocean.

We went already the second time to James Fort. Always with good wheater. You can see Charles Fort from there. But instead of Charles Fort it is free. You can go inside of the ruins and we really enjoyed taking pictures over there!

Short walk from Kinsale 40-60 min. Beautiful views over Kinsale. There is another fort a bit further up, which gives nice views over the bay. The forts are just ruins but are nice to explore. Perfect afternoon activity, also nice for children.

Nie view all over Kinsale. Not too far, one can walk there from Kinsale center in about 30-40 minutes. Not a big fort, only ruins. But you can climb and walk around and have a nice view over the countryside all around.

I made the walk to the Fort in early November. I had the place to myself and the leaves and bushes were starting to turn to beautiful amber and rust colors. The skies were cloudy which gave the Fort a very haunting and Medieval vibe and with me being the only one there at the time, I could really feel... More

We enjoyed exploring James Fort. We walked to the tunnel, and all around the fort, as well as the trails in the field which led us to a little beach. A nice place to 'get away' from the crowds and noise and enjoy the views of the harbour!

It takes a bit of walking to get to James Fort, as is it not accessible by car, which is just one of the many good things about it. We were the ONLY people there when we went, so had the whole area to ourselves. The fort is basically a very well preserved ruin, with no entry allowed. Nice photo... More

Interesting 5 pointed fort on 12 acres. They have done a nice job of restoration. Also they have made it kid friendly by having 5 fairy doors that they must locate.
