Killorglin is home of Puck Fair and this statue is a tribute to it. Can be found just across the bridge from Killorglin town. Good photo opportunities overlooking the river Laune.

As a first visit to Ireland this fair was amazing. Live music everywhere and entertainment as well as a horse and cattle sale.

Huge crowds enjoying free entertainment all day and night. Shops and calls in center of town and craft fair in library square. Starts with horse fair. Cattle fair second day. King puck in charge for the three days and nights.

Apparently this goat is honored as he alerted the locals of an invasion of the vikings and now once a year there is a goat killed for a Puk festival

It's not often that one gets the opportunity to take a selfie with a statue of a goat...but this is not just any goat. It's the mighty King Puck! So embrace this rare opportunity to create your next Facebook profile pic.

Lots of places to stay in this beautiful area...as our group were scattered om both sides of the river during our stay...pubs aplenty and the flowers are blooming in May...while there, but the book about 'Puck'. Enjoy!
