The statue represents the spread of Irish people from their homeland, which resonates with many tourists. Designed and be cut from a single rotting oak tree by sculpture Will Fogarty and artist Mick Clifford, the piece is called 'The Diaspora'.

Commemorates the huge emigration from Ireland over the years. Situated just outside the former Railway station, now housing Fexco. Beautiful sculpture. .

This is a beautiful piece of art. Stunning to look at and emotional too. It really is true craftsmanship. Makes you think of times gone by and indeed the time we're in now too.

Just stop and reflect ...take your time... These talented artists, Will Fogarty and Mick Clifford, who carved this out one piece of oak have captured the real emotion. The folk who left their home land many years ago...never to return again. It really is impressive!

Killorglin is on the Ring of Kerry, so,it’s an excellent base for that trip, which takes a full day. Dingle is on a different peninsula but is still within a half hour from Killorglin.,accordingly it’s also a good base for... More
