ring fort, a little different then some of the others. interesting to see different styles of these forts, so close to the other one might as well see both

Leacanabuaile Fort and Cahergall Fort both of which are well preserved examples of stone forts and can be accessed by the same parking lot. Worth visiting when travelling to or from Waterville. We had perfect sunny weather, amazing view of the scenery

Along with Ballycarbery Castle, the two stone forts make a great side trip excursion while on the Ring of Kerry. The forts are well maintained and sparsely visited (no tour buses). We had the place to ourselves on a beautiful sunny day. This fort is...More

Very close to the other stone fort (same parking area). Also well preserved, with a historic sign for information.

We explored this fort with our four year old. These sites are great as you can climb their stairs and steps and walk on the walls. Check out the creepy tunnel and chambers in the walls.

Stunning views of County Kerry from this well preserved (restored) stone fort. A nice 10min walk from the carpark and close to Cahergall fort so you can visit both at the same time. Not a lot of information about the site. Children enjoyed exploring.

This was a really nice place to visit. Opposite to many other places around, it's free to visit! So cool how these walls were made.

Easy to get to and very interesting to experience. A quick google search for some background before you go - makes it even more interesting. There is another site nearby - about three minutes walk.
