Heir Island is a beautiful quite island, easily accessible from Cunnamore Pier where there is a regular local ferry. Head to the far side of the island to the Paris townland and there are beautiful views and lovely beaches facing out to the Atlantic. There's...More

Although not as easy to reach as Sherkin & Cape Clear and lacking public transport, pub, hotel or hostel, Heir more than makes up for this in that there are no hills and less traffic, so pretty much the whole island can be covered in...More

A short ferry ride and you're on Heir Island. Feels timeless and very peaceful. Visited twice in June and had the beach to ourselves. Makes Sherkin and Clear islands seem a bit busy! Not a lot of shelter so good weather helped😀 Staggeringly good views...More

The road to Cunnamore, from where the ferry leaves, is not without its challenges - narrow and no signage after a certain point but what a view of the islands! The ferry to Heir island takes @ 5 minutes and runs every two hours. The...More
