My wife indulged me by allowing me to put this on our must stop list. Of course The Quiet Man is one of my favorite movies and it was so much fun just to stop and take a look. Parking is just before the bridge,...More

This bridge became famous in the film The Quiet Man starring John Wayne and Maureen OHarra. It is areally structure miles from nowhere on the road to Clifden in Donegal. Loads of folk stop to get their picture taken

Accidentally came across this bridge! Too cute not to stop! Love everything Quiet Man related so if you like that, then find this bridge on your way out exploring Connemara!

If you like the movie st all, this is a good place to stop. Easy to get to, too. If you don’t know (or don’t like) the movie, it’s still a good stop. This is a beautiful example of a historical stone bridge, quintessential Irish....More

Well, if you pass by this road, it is worth to stop and take a picture, nothing special but the title of an old movie with John Wayne and Maureen O'Hara. The whole village of Cong lives today on remembering this movie.

Always thought the film was done entirely in Mayo but obviously not. For the movie buffs and die hard John Wayne fans, this is a must visit. It's a nice old bridge.

It is away from Cong (where the Quiet Man museum is). It is a little past Oughterard on the way to Clifden (n59). There is a turnoff from the n59 signposted Leam. It's only a short distance from the turnoff.
