A little tricky to find - just off the main road to Clifden but not marked well. You would have to remember the movie to know what you were looking for, but there is a signboard once you find it. There was roadway construction when we were there (early April, 2017) - looks like some area roadway improvements are underway.... More

At one end of the town - you might drive across it before you realize what it is. You can park at the church and hop out for a few snaps before driving into the village. Watch for traffic - as this bridge is still in use, very narrow, and you have to cross it with no sidewalk - to... More

If you love the movie it will make you happy to be there. Not easy to find but not impossible. Ask the folks at the Peacockes hotel they will help you out. William & Colleen New York

Quiet area, old bridge. For fans of the film it's a nice place to stop for some photos. Easy to find... On the way to Kylemore abbey.

Was in this area recently and couldn't resists visited this bridge. Its a beautiful area and unspoilt and not commercial. There's just a plaque with a picture of John Wayne. Its not very well sign posted from the main the road so look out for it. And be careful as its still in use. We later went onto the village... More

Of specific interest to fans of John Wayne, this pretty little stone bridge just off the N59 was a location for shooting of the movie 'The Quiet Man'. It is signposted, but easy to miss if you are unaware of its existence or not keeping an eye out. Unchanged since the movie was shot, it is a quiet and scenic... More

The signage on the highway was non existent. Luckily a local told us how to get there. There really isn't much to see. You have to be a John Wayne fan to appreciate it.
