Good pub food, not great atmosphere

Called in for lunch after visiting nearby cliffs, great chowder and veg soup, pub lacked atmosphere and Landlord was more courteous than welcoming.

Not sure about negative reviews. I'm confused. I found this to be a friendly local pub. Great caring staff and family owned. Locals come here to enjoy a Guinness and hot homemade food. The Irish stew is excellent, the veggie soup superb. The service is always great. I always come here to enjoy a great meal and meet and greet... More

Having travelled to Lisdoonvarna on a Saturday afternoon with family we went to the Irish Arms for dinner at about 3pm. We were met by a rude English guy at the door who abruptly asked us if we wanted food. We said we wanted drinks first and then food. He then pointed to a page taped to the door stating... More

Typical main street pub for locals with the standard Irish friendliness and homeworker food. My meal of cabbage and bacon was a plateful of freshly cooked food and exactly what I needed.

We were traveling from The Cliffs to Galway and the GPS took us on N67. As we passed through this small village we saw this pub and as it was lunch time we decided to stop. What a great find. The service was friendly and the food was very good. It is not a large menu but has something for... More

Stopped after touring in the Burren and had a great salmon lunch. There were 6 of us and we were all pleased with our choices. Also there was service at our table which was a nice change from ordering at the bar. Nice server took order, brought drinks and everything!

We stopped here on our way back from the Cliffs. There were nine of us, and practically no one in the place. The staff was so welcoming and fun. I had the bangers and mash, which were yummy. The food and drink were brought quickly which we appreciated at the end of a long touristy day.

Have been here a number of times. Food is top notch and friendly staff. There is a nice relaxed atmosphere in the pub. Good location in the heart of lisdoon. Worth a visit.
