I cannot fully express how wonderful a trip to Garinish island is, and after coming here for almost 30 years I still find it amazing. First you pick one of the boat companies to take you across the bay to the island, boats run on...More

We only found this wee gem following a recommendation at our hotel. We spent a lovely morning on the boat trip to the island and a pleasant walk around the island gardens. We left wishing we had more time to spend there.

The trip across the harbor was interesting. We saw a bunch of sea lions lounging on rocks in the harbor before landing on the island. The island is lush with interesting plants everywhere. The house is gorgeous and so unexpected in Ireland. I loved the...More

Our October visit meant fewer flowers in bloom than earlier in the season. But, the dahlias were just stunning! This was well worth the two hour visit.

This was one of the highlights of our visit to the area - the boat trip was short and easy, nice to see some seals basking en route. The gardens are amazing, even this late in the season. For me, the best part was the...More

We made a return visit to the Island of Garinish or Ilnacullin, after a 20 year gap, and the place has lost none of its magic. Expectation was high as we crossed the short stretch of water by passenger ferry. The gardens are beautifully kept...More

Really depends on the severity of the disability, there are about 3 narrow steps into the boat and a bit of a walk from the main road. This was the blue pool ferry, not sure what the harbour queen facilities would be.
