I'm glad that I stopped into this place! The owner is very knowledgeable! I enjoyed speaking to him at length. My only concern is with the 'penal chapel'. I noticed some of the stuff I this chapel was getting exposed to water and moisture. I'd like to see these holy items better preserved and the relics of the saints better... More

Dear Saighdiiuir, many thanks for posting your review on Tripadvisor. I am very pleased that you enjoyed your recent visit to our museum. With regards to our penal chapel I am pleased to say that I have just purchased a new dehumidifier for the chapel. In an ideal world I would install a complete temperature control system/but unfortunately as this... More

It's a small backyard museum but very informative, with an emphasis on the Irish Free State and the Republic. The owner was happy to come with additional explanations. I'd be really proud of such work if I were Irish. The whole place can be navigated in Google Street View mode (there's an orange marker on Google Maps).

Dear George, sincere appreciation for your recent review on Tripadvisor. While I fully agree that our area is relatively small /when compared with some of the very large National Museums /I think that because of the fact that we have a colossal range/collection of Original Memorabilia/Historical Artifacts onsite that it more than compensates for not having huge space in which... Last week I visited this interesting place and I can strongly recommend this museum to everyone who wants to learn about Irish history. Dear Krista L, many thanks for your recent review on Tripadvisor/which is greatly appreciated. Like yourself, many visitors who visit us become quite emotional/largely because our offering is so realistic and true/to/life. I would say that visiting here is as much a Unique Experience as an actual visit, because literally everything onsite are Original Artifacts/as distinct from copies/ and you... More

I highly RECOMMEND this small museum, this was a very moving experience for us Irish Americans who knew very little of Irish History. Its amazing what a treasure trove is here, but also a wonderful personal touch to get a personal tour made it.
