This is hidden gem, on the 4K walk from the entrance to the castle we must have taken 100 pics around every corner there was something amazing about the landscape, the lake was so still it was like a mirror for the mountains & beautiful burnt red countryside. On reaching the castle even though it is winter the grounds were... More

We stumbled upon Glenveagh while touring in Donegal. The home itself is one of the better ones I've seen, doesn't feel as stuffy and dated and old as many of them I've visited (such as Malahide outside of Dublin), but rather, just classic. The design of the castle is very aesthetic and there is a swimming pool down below with... More

We thoroughly enjoyed our tour of the castle. The grounds are beautiful. If you are able do take the walk to the castle. If not a shuttle is provided.

Glenveagh is definitely worth a visit if you are holidaying in Donegal! Great walks/hikes, Beautiful scenery and a great tour of the castle which is very informative. The gardens are really beautiful and the tea rooms are a must! A great day out!

Back in August, we took a family trip to Donegal. It was just a short 5-day break on the shores of Lough Gartan and the weather was being its usual unpredictable self. However, we managed to pick a good day for our trip to Glenveagh Castle and surrounding National Park. I highly recommend it. We left our car at the... More

An easy walk from the (free) parking will take you through a wonderful wind landscape to a green area close to a lake. The castle appears only after the last bend and has a nice garden.

We have been going to Donegal for almost four decades and every few years we go back to Glenveagh. The valley is just amazing and the castle takes you way back in time. The whole setup is very tastefully done and the cafe serves lovely food. If you haven't been before you must do a guided tour. Memorable in so... More

A quick visit to one beautiful castle. I went there by car and it was pretty easy to get there. You have to pay 5€ but if you like history do it. Really nice views and history.
