After visiting Bunratty Castle and Village we saw a sign for the winery so we decided to visit it thinking it would show wine and mead making. It did not. Was just a shop and gift store in an old farm building. Picked up a souvenir package of mead and left.

They sell the mead in the gift shop at the castle and in the bar at Durty Nellys. They need to remove the sign up the hill... It's decent but served warm.

It`s not like you see how they make the mead and potcheen. This is a nice little shop that you can learn about the history and buy a bottle, if you would like one while you`re in Ireland. If you`re an American, you can easily purchase it online or at a Total Wine store. You could save yourself a huge... More

I wasn't very impressed with this winery. The people were nice but there wasn't much to the place. You can pick up their products for the same price in many of the tourist attractions. Stop in if you've never tasted mead. Otherwise don't go out of your way.

Popped in to pick up some mead on my visit, prices same as elsewhere but they also sell Pochin. Don't know if they do tours as I didn't ask, I will next time

The bar maid at Bunratty Castle informed us that the mead we were drinking was made just a minute up the street so we decided to hop over. Not really much to do or see. They will share a tasting of what they offer and sell their products. My brother having made mead before was happy to discuss their process... More

Not sure why they call this place a winery but it was worth the trip. Got to try both the potcheen and the mead. I loved the mead so I bought some small bottles for gifts and for myself. The lady working there was friendly enough but was a bit disappointed that they only two things to try were the... More

It's NOT a winery tour like you would think. You don't see it being made or the behind the scenes workings but, you do get to taste the two wines that they do produce on the grounds.
