This beach is named the men beach but I can't imagine any segregation still taking place. It's a nice long and broad beach that you can walk onto right from the city centre main street.

A lovely, sandy beach with wonderful views around the cliffs and up to the ruined castle. The water seemed safe for the children to paddle in as it was not too deep.

Even in winter the fine sand is a pleasure to walk on. It is vast and stretches beyond for a couple of miles until you get to the opening of the Cashen (Feale) River. Here the wild Atlantic crashes against Ireland with power and beauty.

The men's beach when the ride is out has the best beach walk in Ireland. All the way back to Fasten river . A man made rock pool was aperfect place for kids to swim and picnic.
