I booked a 3 night stay with my two teenage boys & overall, I was extremely satisfied with our stay. The holiday included sleeping in the dorm type rooms, food & activities. Everything was spot on & really gave us an opportunity to get away from the city, mobile phones, etc. Plus the fact we got a glorious week (weather wise), helped as well. Overall I would highly recommend this to any families, couples, etc.

We did 2 full days of activities.
We had the nicest guides in Tom and Simon
I would rate the gorge walking as the best followed closely by the turf challenge. The swing was great crack as well. My sons would say that the sunset boat trip with the mackerel fishing was the best so suffice to say there’s something for everyone. Tom went out of his way to include everybody and made sure we were all happy. I couldn’t praise Killary enough. It was really excellent.

We were a hen group of 22 women and I couldn’t recommend Killary more. The staff and Zoe in particular were so welcoming and helpful with everything we needed. The food was delicious, and we booked the upstairs lounge for both evenings to host our party. The lounge was sound proof which meant we could sing our hearts out and didn’t disturb any of the other groups!
The rooms were comfy and clean dorms.
We did the bog activity which was hilarious and a complete workout! The instructs were great at encouraging everyone to get involved.
They then organised a bus for us to Westport for the Saturday night!
On the Sunday morning we booked in to use their seaside sauna which was such a lovely way to end the weekend.
I couldn’t recommend the Killary adventure company more for any hen do needs!

Just back from a fantastic time at Killary adventure company. Kids had a great time on all the activities and all the staff were great. Special mention to Caitlin who became a fan favourite with the kids even some of the more difficult ones, she was funny and bubbly with everything she did and a true credit to Killary adventure. Thank you all.

Kilary is great - Facilities are well maintained, clean and very comfortable. Staff are v friendly and know their stuff. It doesn’t seem to overbook itself such that people are not on top of each other. We (adult and 3 teens) booked the Ringo rides which was great but it’s not A three hour session in itself – we ended up instead with a multi water experience including paddle boarding Ringo rides and gorge walking etc - much better use of three hour session. Kilary should please do more sampler / mix and match sessions

We used the centre just for accommodation and food and I stayed with a group of friends in a dorm room. The accommodation was exactly as described and the room was comfortable, clean and quite reasonably priced. Everyone got a decent night's sleep

The food was the complete opposite. The website described "delicious casseroles & stews, pizza and pastas, pies & bakes" while we were served a large but tasteless warm burger with around 8 chips. There was a bit of salad which was OK. This was what they were serving for €27. An absolute rip-off of the highest order. We had a better meal in Supermacs on the way home and I really can't stand Supermacs.

Breakfast was cornflakes served with milk on the turn and toast you cooked yourself after queuing, washed down with lukewarm team. The Full Irish breakfast available at weekends was not available.

My summary, is go for the accommodation but skip the food.

My son did the 5 night residential summer camp. This was his first time away from home away from family and in an environment where he didn't know anyone. It was a big step. One that we were ready to 'save' him from as soon as he needed.

During the drop-off day orientation (about 15 mins), this idea was addressed. The first timers want to go home on day one or two. I felt assured by Tom (I think that's what his name was) that we shouldn't be so quick to come to the rescue when the kids are a little down on day one and two. I sought some further reassurance before I left and was assured that I could speak to the staff if I needed to.

My son did experience an issue with one of the kids in his room and I was ready to jump in to the rescue. After speaking with a few of the camp leaders they shared how they were going to address the issue sobtgat one kids poor choices didn't have to ruin a weeks worth of amazing experiences for my son.

He had on his own reflection an amazing time. He met so many great kids (including the guy he was getting a bit of grief from at the beginning).

One thing that really stands out is that going in to the camp, my son had a fear of heights and swimming in anything but a pool. I expected to hear about all the activities he didn't do. To hear him talk about his fun sliding into lakes, doing aerial course, paddle boarding, or Ringo rides out the back of a speed boat is so awesome. It is a credit to the activity leaders and they way they encouraged the kids.

All the staff that he interacted with were super, and tbh if it wasn't for you we would have been driving the three hours back to Killary on Monday or Tuesday!

One call out for anyone thinking of sending their kids to this camp is they should have a phone. My son is going into 6th class and doesn't have a phone yet. He had an ipad with teams on it but the WiFi isn't super. A phone would have made it easier to contact us....though by Wednesday evening he was too busy with his new friends to call us anyway!

My two sons (11 & 14) did Ringos and said it was 'the best thing they ever did in their lives'. Killary Fjord is such a beautiful setting for this activity and the screams of them could be heard right down the valley !
They also did kayaking and jumping into water. Again they loved it.
Really recommend this adventure centre. Staff and activities that we did were great. Ideal for families staying in Connemara or for groups of friends, or corporate days.
We will be back.

We booked the clay pigeon shooting and archery activities. We thought the pricing was very reasonable and the instructor was very patient and professional (thanks Declan). The landscape here is breathtaking! If you’re visiting the West coast of Ireland, a visit to the Killary Adventure Centre is a must! Bucket-list territory!

Kayaking and gorge walking was brilliant. The guide was brilliant with my 9 year old - lots of encouragement and always an eye on him to ensure he didn't drift off course. Gorge walking was a fab experience and jumping into the fyord exhilarating. Couldn't recommend enough - even on a wet summer's day. Hot showers and plenty of parking made for a happy mum!
