Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I have been out on the 'Dolphin Trips Avoch' boat many times over the last few years. Whilst sightings are never guaranteed the owner has a very good track record. This year I went out in June and again in September. On many occasions the Dolphins have come to the boat swimming around and even under it. The boat is jet powered, so no propeller, its safe for the animals to explore us as we explore them.

Had a wonderful trip out on Avoch boat trips. Whilst there were no dolphins in the area we did see two basking sharks, which were a first for both me and my friend! Whilst Ive been lucky enough to even see humpback whales of the Scottish (west) coast the basking sharks had always eluded me. So that was a great sighting!
The skipper was nice and friendly and his two dogs in the office were the sweetest!
Highly recommended

Beautiful experience in the Highlands, Gwyn the skipper was very knowledgeable and above all respectful of the sea and the dolphins. We were able to see many of them, up close! Highly recommended if passing through the area.

We went out on the morning cruise and had a fabulous time. Gwyn the skipper was very knowledgeable, a great crack and respectful of the dolphins. Highly recommend this trip, yes you can stand on the shore, but this is a far better way to see them, as well as the other wildlife and scenery around the Moray Firth. Simply Stunning 😎🐬🌊🛥 Not loads of pictures - I was enjoying the moment!

We saw lot of dolphins near the boat. They were far at the beginning et we slowly got closed to them ! The captain was very nice 👍🏽

We set off on a calm day hoping we would see some dolphins but as with any wildlife viewing experience there are no guarantees.
We did see dolphins. Heaps of them. Up close.
The boat itself was fairly small able to hold 12 passengers which was ideal. You could see out both sides of the boat.
The captain was knowledgeable and knew how to get in the best positions.
Overall a magical experience

We had a great experience. Smaller boot. The Captain knew where he was talking about and how to find the beautiful dolphins. Thanks!

The hour long boat trip was fun and we saw lots of dolphins. They came close to the boat. Our daughter aged 7 enjoyed seeing the dolphins very much and it was the right length of time for her. You have to email or ring the company to find out the times (given they are linked to the tides) and to book - and they were responsive on email. Good value. Would recommend.
