Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I visited Oldbridge cafe today, a cafe I have been to on several occasions whilst out cycling. Today I paid €3.10c for a mediocre Americano in a paper cup, served by staff that weren't very friendly, a trend that I have noticed on the occasions I have been there before. I do realise the current climate of working in the service industry during a pandemic is challenging, but for a tourist site that welcomes many visitors, I would expect higher standard of service & quality.

The Oldbridge Estate is absolutely beautiful, a gorgeous place for a walk, even on a windy day. But it is badly served by the Brambles Cafe and so were we.
Aside from the unfriendly service, the prices were inflated and the sandwiches just awful. It's hard to get a chicken and stuffing sandwich wrong but they managed it and charged us €5.80 for the result.
Social-distancing restrictions were in place but Covid-19 surface cleaning seemed lackadaisical. I don't know how often the tender for this comes up but the OPW can and should do better. Oldbridge deserves a cafe worthy of the high standard of the rest of the estate.

Went here this morning and can't believe the rudeness of the staff. To be honest all the employees looked miserable. Manager could do with ditching her ineffective visor and wear a mask like the rest of her staff.
Perhaps the OPW should retender for a company to run the cafe who want customers.

This place is well worth visiting, both for the story of the battle but also for the gardens. The presentation the Battle is done excellently - clear and with good use of electronics and film. It's a complicated story but this presentation really succeeds in explaining it, even bringing the consequences up to the modern era. We did not expect to find such wonderful gardens at the same time. The walled garden is by far the largest we have ever seen - anywhere. It's beautifully kept but is not 'over the top' at all. A full and fascinating morning, and incredible value for money - we paid 4 Euro each as Over 60s.

Great visitor's centre if you wish to see what transpired in 1690. It is spread a vast area and museum in the large house along with aiou short video. A lot of the picnic tables have disappeared. Maybe because of the virus. There is great walks around the centre and the general public use it for jogging, walking their dogs etc. Must see if you are in the area

We had a warm reception on a cold and windy day. The lovely lady at the reception desk on December 2nd gave us lots of information about the battle and history leading up to the battle. The short film was educational as were the exhibits.

Interesting to learn about this key battle. The museum is small and does not take long to complete. Unfortunately the laser show was not working for our visit. Good 15min film to summarise the battle.
We didn’t explore the battlefield walks but this would have been nice.
The cafe is new and nice. Good variety of options but pricey.

Margaret did the Field Medicine demo as part of heritage week. From plant remedies to surgical instruments used on the battlefields, and a surprising walk behind where we usually get to go with laid out out info at medicinal plants. We were aged 8 to 69years old, so educational and entertaining

Very dog unfriendly. We walked out from drogheda. A beautiful walk. Had to sit outdoors on the terrace with our 2 well behaved dog and as soon as we finished our lunch a security guard asked us to take the dogs off the terrace. There were only 3 customers inside the cafe. Won't be going back. They are loosing out on a large dog walking market.

We went here as part of a tour group. The tour guide was knowledgeable and entertaining. He started the tour in front of the house overlooking the site of the battle and moved into the house. The house includes some info graphics on the battle Whig made the whole battle easier to understand. There was also a short video. There is a tea room attached and a lovely walled garden to walk through.

We toured leisurely, and it took about an hour. We saw the museum, gardens, and grounds. Might take a bit longer with kids.
