We had an excellent lunch. I opted for beef with all the trimmings. This was followed by Christmas talks within the Place including Barons Hall and the Solar. All reasonably priced and pleased to discover other lunches with different themes continue during the winter.

Beautiful historic manor with amazing atmosphere. We had champagne and canapes in the great hall. Wonderful eerie candle lighting with an amazing fire pit in the centre of the room for warming by. The dining room upstairs was cosy and stunningly decorated with flowers for...More

My third visit to this beautiful Manor House and Gardens. Can easily spend the whole day here. Once owned by Henry VIII, both the house and gardens are such a delight. The rooms in the house have great works of art and furniture. The gardens...More

This place is just wonderful. The building is stunning and although a little cold in the barons hall, the history and architecture is beautiful. This would be the most wonderful setting for a wedding and we would defo consider renewing our vows here. The staff...More

Today spent 3 lovely hours at Penshurst. So rich in history and the staff are friendly and knowledgable. Each room has really good info sheets as well so you’re not left floundering. We’re not gardeners but you’d have to be a real philistine not to...More

The story telling- with hot chocolate and marshmallows rotated on a fire was fantastic. The food in the garden restaurant was poor. Went for the meat lasagne - just after I ordered it I saw someone else return theirs. I watched one chef take the...More

I only visited the gardens. I did not see a single hand rail. I do not know about the house itself.

The grounds are quite flat - eg the Knot Garden - and the Great Hall is accessible after a few steps up. Upstairs apartments would not be good for someone with mobility problems.
