Pasubio Ossuary
Sep 2018 • Friends
It is a monument dedicated to the fallen of the first world war. It is located on the Bellavista hill overlooking the Val Leogra, just below Mount Cornetto about 2 km from Pian delle Fugazze.A sacred place overlooking Mount Pasubio in memory of many soldiers who died both Italians and Austrians during the First World War ended in 1918. But that also looks towards the horizon in the direction of the underlying Val Leogra towards the Pianura Padana as if looking for peace and hope for the future. A place full of history placed on a hill that offers a breathtaking 360 ° view.

A moving tribute
Aug 2017
Unbelievably moving, this memorial was established to remember all of the Italian soldiers (1000's of them) who lost their lives while defending the area from the Austrian army during WW1. Visible in wall cavities of the memorial are the bones of fallen soldiers. This is a site of solemnity and deep respect of those who fought in this bloody and brutal campaign.

Amazing, beautiful--a poignant reminder of men who fought/died WWI

A short drive from 52 Tunnels trek. The remains of several thousand Italian & Austrian soldiers are interned here. There is also a bar and small informative museum. Super views from here.

an hour visit to Ossario del Pasubio

A nice view of the mountain range the inside of the monument, you can climb all the way to the very top and see very far on a clear day. The bottom part of the monument is lined with names of the fallen soldiers and in some of the tile windows bone fragments are available to see. The bar near by has limited food and sells tickets to the museum.
