What an experience lovely people who take you round the markets explain all the different ingredients, and take you through step by step. Super friendly, yummy food, helps you along the way 10 out of out 10 experience, at a very very good price. I hope to return someday 😀

This class was excellent. Personal attention and guidance during cooking. Market visit to explain ingredient use and show variety and use of ingredients. Great facility with all utensils provided. Food was delicious with extra to take to hotel after. Timing of class and cooking of 6 different dishes within time frame. Well worth the time and price. Recommended highly for any Chiang Mai visit. Even got advice on other dishes.

We had an amazing experience. The end of July we booked a halfday cooking class with two.
Like described we were picked up in our hotel. Together with the chef we went to a local market. Afterwards we visited his garden and got a lot of information about different plants. In meanwhile Sangtien already cleaned the vegetables which we should use for our dishes. We prepared each 4 diffent courses. All the dishes were adapted to our wishes (we are not eating meat).
We really enjoyed our evening and had a lot of lovely dishes to eat. We tried also a very nice homemade snack from Sangrien. We couldn't finish the dessert, so we could bring it to our hotel. After eating we stayed longer to talk with them. Sangrien and Sonthichai are two really nice people. If we come back we will book this course immediately again.

We had an amazing time at the Thai Garden Farm! Son and his wife Tien are beautiful, warm and welcoming people. We started with a little market tour at the outskirt of Chiangmai. After that we drove to the farm, which is around 20 minutes outside the city. Son took us on a little tour through his farm and we harvested fresh herbs and vegetables for our picked meals. The cooking took place in a big kitchen-dining area with an open floor plan, which offered a perfect authentic setting. The food we made was delicious! Especially the sticky rice with mango was the best I have ever eaten! We are very thankful for everything we learned that day - not just about cooking but about Thai life. We will never forget this day and this beautiful family. Thanks so much to Son and Tien. We definitely want to come back!

We are a family of 5. With three teen and young adult children.
We Had an amazing evening with Son and his charming wife Tien. Son started with a tour of the marketplace. He taught us how to pick our ingredients. Then he took us thru their personal organic garden. We smelt and learnt about each herb, leaf and raw material.
We then made a 4 course meal. Noodles, thai curry, soup and dessert. He guided us thru our personal choice of dishes.
The food was yum. The experience was unbelievable. Son and Tien were attentive, patient and supportive of our amateur attempts.
Totally worth everything. A must try esp if food is an important aspect of your life and holidays.

One of our favorite experiences on a three week trip to Thailand. The half day morning class is the perfect amount of time. We loved the instructor and the entire organization was very well run , all by Women. Yay.

A great experience with Sam and Tien who are beautiful people. The half day passed too quickly.
Sam came to pick us up in town and then took us to the market. Unusual experience!! He explained everything to us.
Then we went to cook and there it was an unforgettable moment of sharing and knowledge.
Quality products, succulent dishes, a dessert to die for!!
We will do it again on our next trip to Chiang Mai!!
thanks to you two

This experience is a definite must if you are visiting Chiang Mai. We booked an evening class not expecting the amazing experience we were in for. We found the brochure for this place in our hotel and contacted them directly through WhatsApp and after a quick reply we booked directly.
Son picked us up from our hotel about 3pm and drove us outside of town to a local food market. On the way he was such a good guide telling us all sorts. When we got to the market he showed us round telling us all about Thai ingredients and we were also given time to walk around ourselves. Everyone in the market was so friendly.
After the market he drove us to his farm and walked us through his kitchen garden which is so beautiful (I now want one!). He was picking and showing us and letting us smell all things we would need plus more. It was fascinating. You can tell how much Son loves what he does. He made it feel like a proper course and not just a tourist thing to do in Chiang Mai!
We then went into his beautiful and spotlessly clean kitchen where we met his wife who was also lovely. There were 3 of us and they let each of us do a different curry to try them. Plus we made pad thai, different soups and mango sticky rice for dessert. We also learnt about preparing different types of rice and shown how to prepare a Thai snack from which everything was taken from the garden and wrapped and eaten in a leaf. It was delicious! Son was so patient with us and such a good teacher. The food was also the best we ate in Thailand (even if we did cook it ourselves 😉). You are also given your own cookbook with all the recipes in to take away with you.
Overall I would say this is a must do if you are in Chiang Mai and even if you hate cooking! It was one of our favourite things that we did whilst traveling around Thailand. You learn so much not just about food but about Thai culture and the people. This course was a bit more expensive than some of the others advertised and also didn’t have as much choice of what to cook as some of the others, but don’t let that put you off as in my opinion, for what they are offering, they do not charge enough! This place is absolutely outstanding and run by two of the nicest people you will meet in Thailand!

My boyfriend and I were recommended this cooking experience by a friend from back home. Son and Tien were very prompt to reply on email and gave us all the information we needed. I hadn’t realised that pick up and drop off from our accommodation was included which was a massive bonus! We were picked up from our accommodation around 8.30 in an air conditioned modern van and driven to a Thai market where we were taught so much about Thai food, rice, vegetables, sauces and meat. It was a chance to understand the ways of a Thai market. We then drove to Son and Tiens home, on the rural side of the city it is absolutely beautiful. Upon arrival I couldn’t help but notice how immaculately presented the kitchen was - everything was so clean! We then spent the day cooking and learning. We had the chance to eat our food throughout the day and sit and chat to Son and Tien who spoke English as if it was there first language! We talked about many things including different food around the world, and Thai culture. Again, learning lots!
We really could not recommend this cooking experience more, we are both really hoping to come back one day.
The cooking space is amazing, but above all it was such a pleasure to spend the day with such lovely people and learn so many new things.
Upon departure we were given a recipe book, so we can now cook thai food for our families at home!
If you are looking for an immersive cooking class near/ around Chiang Mai, this is the one!!!
Thank you again Son and Tien for everything!

We had an amazing day out at this cookery school- visited the markets, had cookery lesson, lovely food, and the garden tour- all were very professional, informative while being informal and very enjoyable. The host was fantastic- very friendly and very knowledgeable- we had an amazing time and would really urge you to do this if you are visiting Chiang Mai.
