Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We were told about this place by friends of ours who live in Lombardy region. Parking place is not far away from the actual place. We were a bit surprised that Green Pass for Covid-19 vaccination was not checked because at all other places we visited on this trip, it was needed to show the confirmation.
The journey starts with downhill staircases. Wonderful view to the lake (it was sunny and warm day). Information for others: in case you have issues with walking uphill, consider to take elevator on the way back. It is quite steep.
Monastery itself is a peaceful place, it made us to really calm down. It's not big however you might lose sense of time when you're there.

You should consider visiting this destination if you are in the area - it is quite unique. Established in 1170, and first adopted as a monastery in 1230, there are four chapels and an incredible view of Lake Maggiore. You will descend 286 steps to reach the chapels. Should you desire, there is an elevator - I think for one euro. The views are breathtaking. Recommend.
