I'm glad we visited. I'm quite claustrophobic but found it fine. Wish we had got the English translator. You go in a group and have a French guide. Each stop the guide talked for some time. It would have been far more interesting especially for...More

We have spent one morning In here. You can watch 4 special structures made by nature in 65.000.000 years. Outside there is a nice play ground area for children.

This is a must see if you are in the area. It was a great experience which was very well done, not just another cave with a few lights. We descend into the cavern via an illuminated path and finally reached a balcony. At this...More

The Gouffre is pretty nice and the park around it is really nice. I didn't give it five points because when you're in there, you're basically a herded sheep. There were two or three groups going on at once and it was a bit annoying...More

We were on a family holiday nearby and wanted to see some sites, but with a 6 year old and a 2 year old with short attention spans, needed fairly short trips! The cave is a sink-hole - one big cavern that contains a multitude...More

There are lots of caves to visit in the Dordogne, especially near to Sarlat. We decided on this one because it was very close and there aren't any restrictions on opening times or numbers. It was very easy to find and the booking staff were...More

35 minutes being herded through a cave with 50 other people. Stopping too many times to be talked at by the tour guide whilst standing next to a table of merchandise (how authentic!). If you have nothing better to do and everywhere in 50km is...More

The big cave is like a cathedral, nice but not spectacular. the temperature is around 15 degrees celsius, very pleasant on a hot day, bring some extra clothes for the little ones..

Surely there are better ways to spend time in this beautiful region. The cave is impressive, but over-commercialized with a cheesy light show and things like TV's embedded in the rocks to show a video. Worst of all, they have large tables of trinkets laid...More

This is a 'must do' if you are anywhere near the area. Very professional and well explained in French (plus in other languages via excellent Sennheiser headphones). The additional cost of descending into the cave by cable lift is well worth it!
